Urgh, I recommend you to get some new ones. Even a cheap, budget option like the Creative EP630. The Stock earphones that come with most DAP's suck. Badly.

Yep, I've heard that. Could be that I simply haven't experienced better sound quality, but I'm honestly satisfied - watching DVDs with them is much more enjoyable than with the built-in laptop speakers, that's for sure :D .

Sennheiser hd457 and some sony earbuds not sure on the model. The sennheisers really kick ass, and they've been working great for well over 2 years.

Oh god, the ipod headphones have no bass what so ever...
I can't use them anymore, I use the $15 skullcandy earbuds :p they work great, have bass, and cancel out sound.

I wouldn't get caught dead using either of them, except for to test them so I can have an unbiased opinion of them(I've tested some of the ibuds and some of the skullcandies, but I've never purchased any, nor will I.

not bad sound for price, but gets uncomfortable. I'm actually going to get a new one just because it hurts my ears when I wear them for too long.

I think we really need a "best headphone/headset for $" thread though so people like me will know what to get =]. It's really hard shopping for headsets because good and bad is different for different people so yeeaaah. That also means that having such a thread would be really hard, but if it's possible I think that's be great.

I used to have a set of Sennheiser CX300's and they were great to me, loved the way they sounded, and in comparison to a pair of sony IEM's that were twice the price they still sounded better. The owner of the Sony's agreed with me.

They've since died after about a 2 and a half year use time, and I've moved on to a pair of Skull Candy INK'd earbuds. Definitely not my choice, but they do great for something that cost me $10.

You should just hit up ebay for a pair of the fake sennheiser CX300's they aren't as nice as the genuine ones, but they're the best 10$ headphones that I've ever found.

I hate IEM's but I hate buds even more. I'm yet to find some buds that will stay in my ears, they all just fall out.

    Skull Candy- smokin buds
    Bose- in ear headphones
    Bose- on ear headphones

    (yea thats what there called)

the skull candy are actually great for $30, the volume control is nice

the Bose earbuds are excelent, except the plug is weak, so now if its not held a certain way the right side doesnt work. but Thats my fault, i kept it in my pocket a lot, not in its case. but electric tape fixes this.

the Bose headphones are awesome, but the press on the bottom of my ear a bit. but thats not that bad, i can easily get over that once there on me for a few minutes.

    CrossRoads MylarOne X3
    Audio Technica ATH-AD700

I like both of them quite a bit. The AD700s sound amazing, but the fit and design aren't as good. They have comfortable ear pads, but the design requires you to have a medium to large sized head for them. I don't consider myself to have a small head, and they barely fit me. I'd also like a replaceable cord for $100+ cans.

Can anyone recommend some good 5.1 surround headphones? Also, I was wondering - how good can surround headphones actually get. Ive never had any real surround sound setup, so nothing to compare to.

    thanks ^^

Ya. Headphones that claim a 5.1 channel..deserve a consumer Fraud lawsuit.

No such thing like that exists...

Soundcards & Sound processors are what give u virtual surround immersive sound.

    for example: X-Fi

    Hi.

I had a pair made by TRUST a couple of years ago, they were for online gaming, I got them from ebay for like £10.

I never tried them, as their was a large control box will a dozen wires coming out of it.

    Regards

    John.
