Hey guys/gals, I was looking for a backpack that would hold my 15.4" laptop sturdy against my back. I would prefer having it from hp since I have an hp dv5t :D . Thx

It doesnt need to be from HP. It's a rip off usually and you can get other better ones. Look at www.lowepro.com and chek them out. I have one and it is luggage quality and an excellent backpack.

I'm a fan of the Swiss Gear backpacks. I have one that fits my Toshiba Satellite really nicely, and it has great weight distribution - everything feels lighter on my shoulders - and the laptop compartment is very nicely padded.

You can try the Slappa backpack although they're kinda pricey (~91 shipped). I bought one for my 17inch (they have one for smaller sizes too) and it is awesome. Great design, protects your laptop very well, roomy for all your necessary stuff, it's just awesome :)

I use the North Face "Surge" pack... it's got a dedicated ultra-padded laptop compartment with a seperate zippered pouch for the power adapter. Quite a nice bag. The 2008 models are like $120, but I bought mine on sale at EMS for $90. If you have the money, I'd go with the North Face.

I've been a fan of the Solo/US Luggage Urban series, I have the vertical messenger myself, and if the build quality of the backpack version is similar then I would recommend it

I have a swiss gear backpack, works great for my 15", however for my 17" I have a targus messenger bag. My vote is for the swiss gear or case logic packs. they are great....
