I'm looking for some good headphones max spend 99, in ear. I'm tired of buying 10-20 dollar headphones that break in a few months. I'm looking for something that has good sound and will last for a long time.

Are dre beats good as people make them seem? Or are they just overpriced ? What are other good brands?

What kind of music are you listening to? Do you have any preference sin terms of highs, mid ranges, lows and bass? What brands/models have you tried so far?

We could recommend you lots of things, but really, the appreciation of audio is a relative and personal affair.

Sennheiser HD595's are probably the best headphones you can get that will sound good without an amp (and damn good with an amp).

It really depends on your audio source, if you're using a laptop sound card or onboard motherboard sound then basically any $60-$80 pair will be fine.

Yes Shure is a good brand, I have used those in ear headphones while in a studio (recording songs on bass for my buddy's band) and they sound amazing, great quality headphones, although if you really want good quality sound then I would definitely start looking into Over-Ear Headphones, you get a much better sound (because they use much larger drivers) and you can get a good set for the same price as those in-ear Shure's.
    Happy findings.

I like shure's. Right now I have the se310's or whatever they were called before the name change's. If you do get the shure's, go for the se210's, they are better than the 115's. But if it's off a laptop it's not going to be much of a different.

Some people are posting headphones not IEM's the title does say "good headphones" but the OP's post is asking for "in ear" headphones.

Shure is a great brand, BUT...

their 4-level headphones (E4 or SE420) are the lowest model that has any bass to speak of. (And those are over your budget last I checked.)

I had a pair of their E3's, and they had pretty much no bass. (You can confirm this by reading a couple professionally-written reviews on the internet.) However, the treble and midrange sounded excellent. Still, I would choose something else over the E3's due to the lack of bass. The lower models such as the ones mentioned can't be any better.

I've owned their E4's (similar to SE420), and I'm now using their SE530's... and I'd recommend either in a heartbeat if your budget allows for it.

EDIT: I do see some reviews saying the SE115's have good bass... so it's possible they improved things in their newer models, I don't know.

Anyway, check out the forums at www.head-fi.org too... you'll get plenty of recommendations from the headphone geeks over there. ;)

I owned a very nice pair of Shure's before they were stolen. I really enjoyed them. I have to say +1 to Sennheiser. All phones/buds Ive owned of theirs have been top notch and do not disappoint.

I currently use these and love them:

Steelseries arre really good, much better quality than Plantronics I used to have.
I'm on 5hv2, these used to be their best ones, but I see some new headphones in their line so when my break I'll defeniatelly give business to them again.

Don't know about those two you selected but yea, shure is a good company and their products are really good. I've got a pair of SE535s the thingys are amazing.

Good thing about shure you can get replacement parts, like the main cord or foam sleeves. I once rip the main cord and i was like Oh @$#K but since the earphones are modular I just ordered the cord and that was it.

the seperate cord only comes in the higher models (SE 315, SE425, and SE535)

for me I see this as minimum for me, becuase I often end up ruining the cable, and since these are replaceable, its better, but Ive tried the SE115 and they're amazing, you cant go wrong with shure, their products live up to their name

Never had much luck with Shures. Had a E2c and SCL3 and the cable on both crapped out in less than a year.
