    Hi all,
If there's a good thread about this, let me know. I searched a bit and couldn't find anything helpful. Anyway I'm wondering what a good backpack would be for transporting a laptop with accessories and some other stuff. My budget is around $50, but can stretch up to 75 or 80 MAX. Looking for something that is a reasonable size (no bigger than it needs to be), looks good (I kinda like Oakley's style but don't need that many pockets outside everywhere), fairly comfortable, and has a protective compartment for the laptop.
    Thanks for any suggestions :)

Wow. I don't know if that looks comfortable lol

Considering the Dakine 101 and the Wenger Swiss Army Marlet at the moment. I tried the Marlet at a store and it looked good and was quite comfortable, though I didn't like the plastic handle at the top ..

What are the dimensions of your laptop?

I have the SwissGear Maxxum, and absolutely love it; it's within your price range. It fit my Powerbook G4 15" and it fits my ThinkPad T61 15.4", but those are relatively thin laptops. A Vostro 1500 might be a tighter fit, despite SwissGear saying the backpack will fit 15" systems.

If you can get a look at one though, I would. Pockets for everything, rugged construction, plenty of padding, and three choices of colors, all of which look sharp. I went with the plain gray/black because there was a $38/free shipping deal with Amazon; you'll usually find the blue/black or red/black ones for $50-60

My laptop is a 15" Macbook Pro. The Maxxum looks good, but I wonder if there's anything similar but smaller. I'm not planning on carrying too much stuff, just laptop/accessories, pens/whatever, a couple notebooks, and maybe occasional clothes.
