So i just got my HP dv6500t and need a backpack for it. Any suggestions, money isnt an issue but id like to spend anywhere from 75-150 on a good one that will last 4 years. Im thinking either Targus or Swiss Army.

    I realize you're talking about the dv6500t. Dimensions: 14.05" (L) x 10.12" (W) x 1" (min H)/1.69" (max H). For reference, my 15.4" MBP is 14.1" x 9.6 x 1.0" - somewhat close to your computer.

Anyways, I just got a Briggs & Riley Slim Computer Brief for my 15.4" MBP and it's really nice. The description says it will fit 17" laptops (and it may) but my 15.4" MBP fits nicely too. Exceptional quality, lifetime warranty, and very reasonable prices. For computers, they mainly make briefcases, however there are 2 backpacks: Delux Computer Backpack and Vertical Computer Brief/Backpack. I'm amazed more people on this forum have not mentioned this brand before.

Briggs & Riley offers a nice range of cases and I'm certain you would be able to find one that fits the dv6500t if you like the look; it's a bit more professional/formal. If you see something you like and can locate a store near you, then you should definitely check it out. Just don't buy a case unless you know for sure it will fit; sorry I cannot help you there. I actually took my computer to the store and tried it in several cases.

Just look how many links I posted (and all to really the same site, different products though)! I hope there is no rule about maximum links in a post.
