Hi, what headset would you recommend for gaming purposes, not fot listening music (thats all different category). What do you think of these: Creative Fatal1ty USB Gaming Headset HS-1000 (~70 eur) / Logitech G35 Surround Sound Headset (~100 eur) / Razer Barracuda™ HP-1 5.1 Channel Gaming Headphones (~100 eur) / The Razer Megalodon 7.1 Surround Sound Gaming Headset (~150 eur).
For example how much better are Creative Fatal1ty USB Gaming Headset HS-1000 (~70 eur) compared to "basic" Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset (~30 eur) ... is that over double prize tag in sync with performance/specifications. Or is there something else you would recommend for gaming.

im not great with audio but i heard getting the nicest set of headphones you can buy and a nice cheap mic ( like this one) is the best thing you can do for great audio quality. also, if you do this it'll be nice if you have to use it for anything else.

otherwise from that list i heard the megaladon is supposed to be really good. the g35 looks nice too. ive heard the baracuda breaks easy. creative makes good stuff but i dont know about their gaming headsets.

My vote would be for the barracudas. You don't really need 7.1 sound for gaming, and they are very comfortable head phones at a decent price for the quality.

I'm using a Plantronics .Audio 510, and it's great. They also have a more gaming-oriented model, the GameCom 377.

I'm using a Logitech G35 and I'm loving it so far o_O I have no problems with it so far except for the low volume but they're releasing an update to fix that for now

I owned the Barracudas but I will nt reccomend them. The build quality could be better for the price you pay and depending on the size of your head and ears they will not be comfortable for long periods of time. The ear cups are thinly padded compared to other headphones resulting in your ears being pressed against the "speaker" itself. I had that issue and discovered via google that I wasn't the only one. The inline remote is also cheap, its screws come loose from time to time, and its oddly positioned upside down. I used my headset with my m1730 and in order to get surround sound i had to use a Creative soundcard with a surround sound cable adapter. This added some extra bulk and put all the cabling in the way of my mouse.

    Not good.

I've ordered the Razer Megalodon and it should be here Monday. I'll post some pics and my impressions of it when I get it!
