I have a MS Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000 (BT mouse & keyboard).

I love the keyboard a lot, but the mouse lets me down. A lot of the time, the mouse seems to change its sensitivity. Like, sometimes, to move a small distance, I'll have to move the mouse a LONG way, and other times, if I need to move it a short distance, it moves way too far.

Is there anything I can do to fix this?

My laptop is a Vostro 1400. I just had it replaced by Dell (not because of this), it suffered the same problem, but only for a few minutes each day. Now it occurs about 50% of the time.

I'll post a reference to this in the Dell forum too.

Bluetooth lag is when the mouse goes to sleep to save battery life, and it takes a second to wake up when you go to use it. You're experiencing a bad mouse, either it's not getting a good reading from the surface it's on, or it's starting to break.

    Cross posting = bad.

Alright, I know about cross posting, wasn't sure about this forums' policy. Guess I should have checked!

I've tried the mouse on a couple surfaces (my desk, printer paper) and the problem is still there. My laptop is about 1m away from my mouse, the screen is parallel to the wall, about 6cm out. If the screen is closed, I still have the problem (I'm thinking it could be interference).

    When I get a chance, I will get a replacement mouse/keyboard.

So this isn't normal with a bluetooth mouse?

    Tom.

Try using it on a non reflective, dark surface. That usually stops the skipping my mouse does.

My mouse doesn't skip from place to place. It just moves around at varying speed.

I'm using it not on a black piece of cardboard and its still doing it.

It's a laser mouse too, not optical, so it even works on a mirror.

This problem has nothing to do with CPU activity. I was watching the task manager, and I had a severe attack, CPU usage was at 7%.

Going to return this laptop, get a 3rd Vostro 1400.

1st: DVD drive failed, memory failed, graphics card failed
2nd: crappy bluetooth, headphone jack sounds like the sea (1st one was fine in this regard)
    3rd time lucky!

Both my 1st and 2nd had SEC4458 screens which were amazing.
