Like I mean the BEST. My laptop overheats ALL the time, so I have to play all my games on low, and even then, sometimes... My laptop model has serious heat issues, and yes I undervolt. I attached thumbnails of my 15'' Gateway m 6862.

The most expensive cooler I've found was the Lian Li NC-09, I don't know if that translates into the best. It follows the same structure as the Thermaltake Massive23 CS and Enermax Aeolus, but I heard both of those don't move much air, I haven't found any good review of the Lian Li though.

I'm interested in the NZXT Cryo LX, since it moves the most air of all the cooler, but it may not be useful for my laptop unless I put it backwards. The Zalman nc2000 does seem to be good for my laptop, and I heard it doesn't have a lot of airflow but spreads cooling around the entire laptop, and you can concentrate the cooling by putting cardboard on it and cut out areas you want airflow.

I don't know I'm also thinking of getting a boxfan for best cooling, how many inches would I need to get, and would this work? Like I would need to mod the boxfan to make it work like a cooler right? (like add pegs on the bottom). Ty ahead of time guys!

The Zalman NC-2000 and NC-1000 are also well regarded. The 1000 might be a better choice as it's smaller.

Most importantly get a cooler that actually fits the vents on your laptop.

meh the 1000 won't hit my vents, I'm hesitant about the 2000 since it only has 2 weak fans, and the only explanation that I have for its outstanding reviews is that its design spreads air throughout the entire surface of the laptop. What I need is concentrated power, since the heat is only in one area, I guess I could try the cardboard mod, but I don't know if that would be better than a backwards NZXT.

The Zalman seems to have indentions on it, hinting that you could add 2 more fans on it, did anyone try this?

Did anyone try the coolermaster notepal U2? It has 2 80'' fans that you can MOVE anywhere on the aluminum surface of the cooler. How powerful are the fans? Its not listed in the product description. Like this might be the best of the bunch b/c its customizable.

And yeah, to above post, I looked at the thermaltake massive23 cs before, and it looked intriguing, but is it as good as the zalman, hmm..

huge fan =/= more air movement. my custom cooler with 3x 110CFM 120MM fans will push 6x as much air as your HUGE 200mm fan, l3g4cy99. One of my 120mm fans= 110CFM, your 200mm fan= 57 max CFM. This is because your fans are only moving at 600+/- 200 RPM, whereas each of my fans is running @ 1900RPM. My cooler also costs ~10$ less.

Exactly, building your own is always the best solution.
My cooler sits comfortably at about 300cfm output, but I can crank it up to over 1000cfm of air volume to get my laptop hovering.

Yea, I was going to get some higher end 200/300CFM fans but just cba putting down 100$ on something I don't really need, 300CFM will do ~60x better than my NC1500 =p which keeps my idle temps at 40c my load at 82c max in furmark, 60-70c max in almost all games I play. am hoping to idle in low 30s max in mid 70s in furmark, and be in the 50s while gaming.

well the only thing that pushes me away from making a custom cooler is that I don't know how, for 1, and for 2, I've seen some on youtube, and they look so GHETTO.

If I'm going unconventional, I would probably be using an AC adapter, and if I'm doing that, I might as well use a 10'' box fan...

Is there a tutorial on wiring fans, and making them go to either AC adapters or usb's?

Well, if it doenst do a good job of moving air with temps, what fan would you suggest I replace it with to increase the air flow?
I want to make sure I get maximum performance from my G51J as im in Iraq and it gets extremely hot here...

its not that difficult, get 3pin molex fans with 4 pin adapters, and get this PSU:

    http://www.coolerguys.com/840556088776.html

you'll have enough amps for 3 fans @ 1amp each. make sure you get 3pin to 4pin molex adapters, if the fans you pick don't already have them. You'll need as many adapters as you have fans.

I didn't really use a guide..just used some metal clips+ some metal sheets I put together, and drilled holes to vent the air where I wanted it.

Yea, I dont know if I will be able to do that here in Iraq, maybe when I get back to hawaii I can look into doing something with it then. For now, ill use my cooler and possibly look into ordering a new fan for more >100CFM if it doesnt cool it enough. I also am looking to do the drilling and copper mod to help cool so I have a few ideas.

    2 80 " fans? geez that's huge :p

btw, why would u have to turn the cryo LX backwards? u could easily hit all yur vents with the cryo LX's huge cooling surface.

But the smaller the fans the more noise you are making for the same airflow

it doesn't really matter if the bigger fan isn't pushing enough air to really do anything, now is it? He didn't ask for quiet. He asked for best, as in most powerful, because he will be in extreme heat and will need as much help as he can get. A custom cooler with high power fans would be the best bet.
