Newegg.com just added a new LG monitor to their catalog. I saw the price and was shocked when I saw it was for only $250. Like I do with every product im interested in, I researched the monitor. To my surprise I could not find anything about the monitor. Until I found another monitor from LG. It was EXACTLY the same monitor but for $340. So it seems that Newegg is selling the same monitor but for $90 cheaper. Also the model number is exactly the same but with one extra letter in one of them.
Monitors:
LG EB2742V-BN - $250: Newegg.com - LG EB2742V-BN Black 27" 5ms HDMI Widescreen LED Monitor 250 cd/m2 DFC 5,000,000:1 (1000:1)
LG E2742V-BN - $340: Newegg.com - LG E2742V-BN Black 27" 5ms HDMI Widescreen LED-Backlit LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 DFC 5M:1
So is it worth buying?
If you guys have any info about these monitors it would be great. This just seems too sketchy.
Thanks.

Hmmm. I see your dilemma! Google the product number for each one LG EB2742V-BN and LG E2742V-BN. It looks like the monitor you listed for $250 is normally 330 dollars. One heck of a deal! To be honest I cannot find any differences at all. Amazon has the EB2742V-BN for 315. My thought is that maybe one is an older version of the same product?
the amazon review wasn't particularly confidence inspiring and the reviews on newegg are pretty good. -
it seems like the 'EB' model is manufactured for commercial sale, whereas the 'E' model is manufactured for sale to consumers. information on the 'EB' model is hosted at an lg.com/us/commercial URL. this probably means that newegg, as a commerical wholesale purchaser/retailer, copped a deal on the EB models in bulk--which translates into savings for you, their consumer. there's some slight differences between the two models, but nothing that trumps $50.
you can check the spec sheets if my screenshot isn't enough: E2742V-BN, EB2742V-BN

I would also suggest to check the newegg refurbished monitors section if you are looking for one on the cheap. I saw a refurb Samsung 21 in LED for around 100 just the other day...

As far as I can tell, just dimensions and weight are different - and they appear to have slightly different stands and bezels (all aesthetic differences, and miniscule ones at that).
The only real difference seems to be that the E2742V advertises a headphone out port; the other model doesn't. -
From what I am seeing is that the one on the left is brighter than the one on the right
Also the headphone port like Prostar mentioned.
What is the difference between these two LG monitors?
