    1. What is your advice for having a neat deskpace? See pic of my desk. What are some things you would do in my scenario to make my desk neater?

    2. As you can see I have alot of cords floating around. I would if possible like to just stick one thing into my laptop so it is easy to remove my laptop. Sort of like the lenovo onelink dock solution.

I have HP envy ultrabook 4 with an etherent power and USB mouse plugged in it. The HDMI is going to the gechic onlap monitor to the left.

    3. I might get a lenovo laptop like t440s and I am concerned that if I do that and get the onelink dock that the angles of sticking stuff into the dock will be weird result in alot of wires in the air. I'd like everything to be easy to grab at desk level but for all this visual clutter to be gone. What would be some ways

There is a hole in the desk behind the monitor were the cords are sticking out. Still I Keep the power brick on the desk because it makes it so I can plug things into it at desk level. I'd like to keep that. Just need to figure out this mess that results.

Let's also assume that I cannot make those lamps into lamps hanging from a shelf or anything. So the lamps gotta stay.

What would be your advice for making this setup neater and easier to dislodge the laptop and not have to deal w/ all these cords when I take my laptop to go around?

I basically want to rip laptop out of its place when I want to leave. Then when I want to dock into my work station I wanna plug just one thing into my laptop and boom it is ready to go.

Will this be easier w/ a lenovo thinkpad laptop?

Velcro straps the wires so they are not full length.
Then place a velcro tape on the wall. and stick the wires to the wall. ( Or get a board that is white and shine the lights against it more lighting and less mess on a the wall.)
    Even the power strip.
When you need to go just un velcro the wires from the wall or board.

Mount the power strip to the wall under the desk, or just put it on the floor.

    Wifi.

Get a proper monitor stand instead of a Lock and Lock box.

Get rid of the middle lamp, optionally get a floor or ceiling lamp that can dangle over your desk and get rid of both of the desk lamps.

Bundle up excess cordage with velcro strips/zip ties/etc.

Lose all the floating white boxes.

Pretty good advice. This is basically what I did with my desk space recently, though I also did some extra things to make things even better, given my cable situation (router is velco'ed to the back of my bookcase, nails behind coffee table to hold cables in place along with velco, etc.).

Drill some holes with about 5 cm/2-3 inches diameter into the desk. i did this and all my cables are under my desk now. if fix them down there with some rack cable management clips (rittal)
