take a look at the notebook cooler buyers guide another person was asking for one in there. Unfourtunately he hasnt posted any pictures of the bottom. Post a pic of the bottom of the notebook. That would help us determine which is best for your cooling layout.

I bought a Zalman 1000 for my previous dv5t. It fit well very well, but honestly, I felt that for the $45 I paid for the cooler, it really didn't do a great job. Most people like the Zalman because it's more quiet than their built-in notebook coolers--- and using the Zalman makes their notebook internal fans kick in less often. But because my previous dv5t had a 9600M GT, I really could care less about sound, as long as it wasn't too overbearing. A lot of the Zalman's quietness is because of the fact that it's fans just don't spin as fast as other coolers out on the market. I'm in the same boat as you, still looking for the perfect cooler, Zalman won't be one of them.

My Antec Notebook Cooler (alot cheaper sometimes can be bought for ~$15), cools my dv2400 and dv4t really really well. However, those are 14.1" notebooks. Haven't tried it on a 15.4" yet, don't have a dv5t at the moment to test it on. Anyways, point is... Zalman feels overpriced. But at the same time, I'm not saying go buy the $10 cheap plastic notebook coolers, because some of those are pure rubbish.

I would have to agree. The Zalman NC2000 didnt cool my notebook very well either. But I know many people who it has got AMAZING results with. By amazing I mean 8+ C drops.
