What shoulder notebook bag do you use for travelling?

I'm currently using a Tumi Gen 4.4 Essential Brief as an everyday bag to work and I'm very satisfied with it. Its quite compact but has enough space for documents and material used is of very high quality. The only downside is the expensive price tag.

I travel overseas several times a year and I'm planning to get a slightly bigger shoulder bag for more storing capacity. An expandable Tumi Gen4.4 would be nice but I like to try something else for a change.

    I usually carry these around:
    1) computer compartment - 14" Thinkpad & external mouse
    2) document compartment - A few A4 sized documents & folders, 2-3 brochures
    3) front pocket - mobile phone, passport, wallet, business cards, keys, candies, USB memory stick, card reader, coins, cigarettes
    4) extra space - some stuff I buy occasionally from duty free like magazines, cigarettes, cologne, small gift for the wife, etc

Any suggestions as to which brand/model to get? I like a shoulder bag with very good quality, has a combination of different pockets/compartments, that hopefully will cost under $300.

What's your shoulder bag setup for travelling? What other things do you usually bring with you?

I'm open to any suggestion. Thanks!

Have you considered a backpack? Lots of extra space and easier to carry more weight.
Targus have a nice one with a handle for carrying when not on your back.

Yes, I used to carry my laptop on a backpack for years just until 8 months ago. Weight distribution is surely much better on a backpack than a shoulder bag and you can put more things because of it.

However, especially when travelling & meetings, its so much easier pulling out things from my shoulder bag and I got used to this convenience already.

Haven't found any good reason to choose a shoulder bag over a backpack yet.
