What type of accessory storage do you like to use with your laptop?

I use my 1 GB multiple times a day.

I find my external AC Adapter HDs to be very cumbersome since I need to find an outlet to use it.

I voted Other, because I use all 3. :p I have a flash drive 256MB Cruzer by ScanDisk. Then a laptop 20GB USB external HD runs off USB power. Also a 20GB desktop HD that I plug into the wall. I don't use the external HD's very much. The flash drive I use the most.

Yea... forgot to mention. I also use my 5GB creative zen micro as a flash drive for bigger files that my 256MB flash drive can't hold.

Does anyone use an IPOD for their storage? Just curious.

I changed my mind on the Western Digital Passport 80 GB USB HD. I didn't realize that I had 60 GB on the notebook, 50 GB on another external HD, and 15 GB on the 2nd external. The main advantage with the Western digital is that I wouldn't need a plug for the outlet since it is powered by the USB port. With 125 GB of HD space left, I couldn't justify getting another 80 GB.

I use my ipod nano 4gig. Easy to use.

And an external USB, AC powered encloser, as i just moved to a notebook and took a 250gig drive from my old desktop. Great for media. I guess the power is annoying, but my notebook is plugged in all the time.

I made myself an external drive - took my 80GB 5400RPM notebook hard drive out of my old notebook, bought a Vantec 2.5" enclosure, put it in there - USB powered. I use it for backups mostly.

For smaller stuff, I have a 1GB flash drive. Useful to take files between my desktop and laptop. Recieved it last week - my 256MB key was getting too small for the files I was transferring.

I picked 'other'. I use FireWire disks for external storage (wondering why it wasn't a poll option??). I use an AMC Venus DS3R enclosure which holds two IDE drives and has hardware RAID0/1 support built in.

USB really sucks for external storage, it's soooo slooooooow. Just about every new laptop has a firewire port, so I always wonder why people choose the much-slower USB port for their external disks, particularly since many external disk enclosures also support both.

Picked up a Corsair Voyager FT 4GB a few weeks ago . . . Wow! It is fast, too!

I find myself carting my laptop about 50% less now! Using ReadyBoost with it too. Love the rubber protective coating and it is basically no bigger than the Chaptstick in my other pocket!
