I got a new G5 and I've noticed that it doesn't pick up textures very well on my old fabric-covered pad, even though my old Logi mouse did real well on it. I've never paid much attention to mousepads. What would I look for in a pad to work with a G5?

SteelSeries QcK. Any of the QcKs will do. Really, that's the answer to all mousepad problems and questions. I used it with my old G7, then the G7 broke and I'm using a replacement MX Revolution with the QcK. Works so well words can't describe it. :) I thought it's stupid to pay $20 or so for a mousepad, but once I did, I'm not going back to one of those cheaper mousepads. Never.

OK so basically my SteelSeries QcK works awesome with my Logitech mice even though the mousepad is made of fabric. Go buy one :D

    Edit:
I dug out my old G5 and tested it on the QcK - works great.

i, personally, have been using the razer exactmat + exactrest (sometimes) for about a year now. i never knew how much of a difference just a proper mousepad can be prior to purchasin my exactpad. it made an even bigger difference to me cuz i'm a low-sensitivity player.

my advise would be to figure out which type of sensitivity u play with. then find a pad that fits yur playing style.

The Razer Goliathus mat is excellent with my DeathAdder. The G5 should do nicely with it as well. The Razer Destructor is also supposedly even better with laser mice.
