I wondered what people typically tote around in their laptop case/bags. Obviously the application of the laptop will dictate extra, "non-laptop" accessories, but what else goes in there aside of your AC brick?
I have an I9200 behemoth and I carry her in an aluminum briefcase. I'm not a student, and I work from home, so she doesn't get out as often as most, but when I do hit the road (about six trips a year) I take along:
Mojo Mouse (PCMCIA slot BT collapsable mouse... a bit like a novelty, really, but it does work)
Extra Battery
Auto adapter for the brick
8-10 DVD-RWs
BT stereo/phone headset
DSL line
Ethernet line
web cam
It's a lot of crap, but the lines, head set. and web cam each fit into film roll containers. Everything fits neatly in the case, and I'm usually ready for anything.
What cool extras do you have?

Once I get my ThinkPad I'll be carrying around a lot less than I do now.
I have a WaterField Designs SleeveCase for the ThinkPad with the Piggyback pouch and the suspension strap. I will carry the following with me . . .
Laptop (X61 tablet)
AC Adapter
External 2.5" drive + USB cable
USB flash drive

Metamorphical Good computer user
I have for some reason switched back to my old targus backpack which is falling appart. Not quite sure why I did that.
Anyways I don't carry much with me and I carry no accessories for my notebook... all I carry are
-My notebook
-AC Adapter
-Books
-Papers
-Clip board
-Two college ruled notebooks (One for note taking, the other for jotting down random creative thoughs)
-A few pencils and pens
-Mini Stapler
-A can of Soda
I guess my flash drive counts as an accessory. That goes on my keychain with my car keys... and I store those in my backpack at times. -

I have a targus 17" carying case, and In it on a normal basis is:
- My Sager 5720 notebook and power brick
- extra battery
- a USB Optical Mouse
- A Targus Chillmat
- a usb keyboard (its pretty thin and compact, but better to game on than the notebook keyboard)
- USB Flash Drive
- headset ear buds
- Wifi hotspot sniffer
- a few games, depending on what im in the mood for
- backups of all of my Laptop's recovery disks
- Ultimate Boot CD

Yah, its quite fun to carry around, but Im usually not carrying it long, from the house to the car, then from the car to the friend's house, or wherever it may be im going. I dont usually take the keyboard with me if Im taking it to class, for instance. -

I'm breaking my back everyday on these things... but I've realized that once you get into the habit of carrying your whole office in your bag, it's hard to leave anything behind...
Laptop
AC Adapter
10' extension cord (because you never know how far away that socket's gonna be.)
Belkin surge protector (2-outlet)
Revolution VX Mouse
2 external 2.5" HDDs (120GB and 60GB)
USB numberpad
Logitech Fusion webcam
digicam (I'm still using a Nikon Coolpix 995!)
various CF and SD cards in a case
2 USB flash drives (I seem to collect these, 512MB and 2GB)
Chargers for my phones (a treo 650 and a blackberry 7130g)
iPod
MX500 earphones
measuring tape
assorted markers, pens and pencils
tabbed file folder
2 large notebooks (the paper kind)
legal pads
....and lots of other stuff for work. Checkbooks, ledgers, and the like.
All in all... I'd say the bag weighs somewhere in the vicinity of 30+ pounds. Ouch. -
ViciousXUSMC Master Viking NBR Reviewer
wow, thats gotta be a big case.
Atlest we know you would make a good grandmother with a purse that carries a first aid kit, candy for the kids, a taser, a 10' extention cord so you can charge your taser (never now how far that socket's gonna be.), various medications, a cell phone, a cell phone charger (both car and home) a backup charger, the club, kleenex, and other various things
On another note, I tried all the popular mouses hands on the other day at best buy, and I cant like any of them as much as the MX518, some of them are very close but there is atleast one thing thats very diffrent that aboslutly ruins it for me, eather button location or the scroll wheel. Something is wrong.
They should just make a wireless edition of the 518, im sure it would sell. Heck I know I would get it. -

Some snacks
Mineral water or any drinks
My Aigner Pencil case (with all the stuff ie: pen, knife, eraser, highlighter, etc...)
I think that's pretty much all of it... -
