    What's the best (brand) external hard drives (portable ones)

    I saw these cool small portable (USB powered) externals today at best buy, one by western digital and the other by simpletech

    anyone know what the best is?

    There really is no "best" because they pretty much are all the same technology, but the two biggest names in hard drives are probrably Western Digital and Seagate. You should get decent build quality with one of their drives.

    yup
    i have a WD passport, doesnt need another power source but also has the large storage, unlike usb sticks

    Ι recommend Western Digital,Seagate and LaCie.

    (personally I prefer Western Digital)
