Hey all, I want a new mouse for my notebook. Definitely USB (1.1 compatible please!), and if possible, not needing conventional batteries, so maybe something with a cradle? Or if it does need batteries, preferable AA, I have 2 extra rechargeables.
I don't know if I want a Notebook mouse or a regular Desktop one. I've used a wired optical notebook one for the past two years and it's been fine, I like the small size, but sometimes I use the bigger kind and I enjoy that as well. Portability may matter more as I'm getting a Thinkpad soon that doesn't have a trackpad, only Trackpoint. I might grow to love it, but when I'm going portable, if I don't, I will need to bring the mouse. Okay, I guess I've thought outloud, a notebook size mouse might better.
Laser, optical? I don't know. I really know little about mice. I want something with a scroll wheel, definitely with the ability to scroll horizontally as well. I've always wanted that.
If you need more details, I will definitely explain further. Thanks a lot!

No complaints with my Microsoft Notebook Laser 6000 mouse...tracks perfectly on a range of different surfaces(even on leather couch) and the size is nice. Don't know when it goes on sale in the states but in canada i got mine for $40CAD(roughly 35USD)
uses a single AA battery. -
I have a Logitech Cordless Click wireless mouse from Walmart. Works really well for me.

for 25.00-30.00USD = Logitech V200 USB mouse. Plug in USB dongle into USB port, wait for loading, there mouse. Works well in everything, and is great in gaming too.

^I love my V200. Available for $30 from amazon plus a $10 mail in rebate. I got mine in the beginning of the month, sent out the rebate immediately, and it's scheduled to be sent to me September 21. I like it mostly because it's not too small, it isn't curved and funny looking like a lot of mice, and it's pretty sleek looking. I recommend it!

I got a Targus wireless mouse in a pack of notebook accessories ( this is the mouse outside of the pack) that has 2 rechargeable AAA batteries internal to it, and it charges through the USB port. So you can plug it in and use it like a corded mouse when it needs charged up, and you can use it wirelessly as well. And since the AAA's are standard sized batteries, you can just buy some if you don't want to wait for a recharge or need to use it wirelessly.
What's the best wireless mouse for $20-30?
