    Hello,

I'm interested in getting a wireless keyboard. In my search, I've seen 2 connection options available: Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz. What is the difference?

Additionally, I'll be using this keyboard for gaming. Would there be any meaningful amount of lag in either wireless options?

    Thank you for any help.

there were also reports of slight lag on Bluetooth peripherals so if you're into competitive gaming it might be an issue.

the advantage of Bluetooth however is it will free up a usb port or 2 which a standard rf mouse and keyboard will use.

I'm pretty into a couple games (though not competitively), but as someone recently told me, if I can't notice screen tearing (no VSync), HDTV lag, etc, then I shouldn't notice this. Plus, I did try a Bluetooth mouse before, and didn't notice anything. And with the games I'm playing, should there be any lag, it seems more likely it would be apparent in the mouse rather than my keyboard actions.

    Thanks for the link.

BT is going to use any device w/ BT and proper drivers for a HID device, while the other is going to use a propritary reciever w/ drivers of its own.

So the keyboard will be more universal (can use it with tablets, phones, etc) and will probably work with other OS's better as BT drivers are pretty universal. While the other will be committed to a device and a USB port to run it.

Id personally go for BT over the other. The one thing I would stay away from is IR based tech.

I ultimately went with a newly announced Logitech K810, which is Bluetooth. Noticed your sig. Just happens one of the main reasons I'm getting this keyboard is for Guild Wars 2.

you might have issues with precision input devices like a mice, but you wont have any problems with a bluetooth keyboard.
