Hi all,
I just figured I would ask what everyones favorite mouse is and why. I know its all about personal preference, so I'll start with mine.
My favorite is the Logitech G9. Hands down. Let me explain why.
I grew very fond of using logitech and never thought I would find anything better than the G3/G5 designs. I used to think it was the most perfect design ever. It kind of looked like a womans body, all skinny in the middle and wider on top and bottom. The G3/G5 is very similar to the razer deathadder, so I guess that could be grouped in here as well. However, after seeing the special on the G9 over christmas I got curious. I kind of wondered to myself why logitech would move to this totally new design, completely differnt from all the ones I grew up loving so much. Now I know why. After reading some good reviews on this forum, I decided the price was too good to pass up. It had like a $20 instant savings, and another $15 rebate from tigerdirect. So I ended up getting one.
Now it has been about 3 months using my G9 and I am completely in love with it. I actually fell in love with it the first day using it, but now its just irreplaceable. I cant imagine using any other mouse in the world. Even those logitech G3/G5 designs I used to love so much feel just horribley uncomfortable now. I cant believe I used to think that was a good design. When I'm at school or at a friends house and I get stuck using it again, it feels like I'm pressing on a huge hump with my index finger. Like my mouse is pregnent or has a tumor or somthing. The G9 just blows everything away when it comes to comfortability. And I'm so glad that logitech came out with this even though I know it was probably hard on them to make such a new design.
Oh yea, and if anyone cares about spec's and stuff, its top of the line. Highest dpi available, with 2 seperate buttons on the mouse to switch it higher or lower at any time. Also comes with weights and differnt grips to match how heavy you want it, and how skinny or wide your palm is.

I really like my VX Revolution.
-
I really enjoy my Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000, it's a fantastic mouse for me and my lappy'
And, if I didn't have the MS 5000, my next choice would be the Logitech VX Nano!

I'm quite fond of my Razer Diamondback 3G.

I have to say that the G9 was by far the best mouse I used. And I used alot. I had an old logitech cordless mouse, which inspire the g3-g5 design. I had a g7, a MX 1000, and a G9.
Now, I use a VX nano, which is impressive too. Less comfy than a G9, but so much smaller and more useful with a laptop. -
The Fire Snake Notebook Virtuoso
My favourite mouse is my Thinkpad Bluetooth mouse. I also like my Vx revolution(mainly the frictionless scroll wheel), but like my Thinkpad mouse even more. The Thinkpad mouse has a great feel due to the "Soft touch" paint that they use. Also the weight is just perfect and it it built like a tank.

I have four Logitech G5's
I think that speaks for which mouse I like
K-TRON -
at first, I want to get mx1000, but since I can't found any, I bought vx revolution. I like it very much if only the tracking isn't picky with surface
-
Razer Deathadder, excellent mouse. Other than that, I quite like the larger MS wireless 6000/7000 and their newer blue thingy mice.
I had a MX510 a long time ago which shared the same body shape as the G5...nice mouse that was.
-
I love my sidewinder mouse, the two side buttons are on top of each other, as opposed to back and front which I find more convenient.
-
For sure would have to be the Logitech G5 and the G9!
-
ROCCAT Kone or Cyber Snipa Stinger. have used a variety of mice. the Sidewinder is kinda wierd to use because the thumb buttons are above each other.
-
I have tried all sorts of mice and the one that I can use best is the Razer DeathAdder, perfect for my claw

I use the Logitech MX518, it's an entry level gaming mouse but is fantastic value for money and looks really cool too !!
-
Really like my VX Revolution. Have a Razer, not all that impressed with it though.
-
This dude knows what he is talking about...i second him adding that it isnt only affordable, but its performance is impeccable. Excellent for gaming, superb for multitasking, and AWSOME OVERALL!! lol -
MX518 is definitely my favorite corded, and I think the venerable MX1000 (I had one of the very first ones back when it was the hot new thing and it worked for years) is still my favorite cordless. I think the MX Revolution is overdone and not a big fan. I think I may go back to cordless as my MX518 cord is a pain in the rear with my desk layout, but its an AWESOME mouse.

Good ole' Logitech V220 does the trick for me.

Microsoft Sidewinder.
It's big, it's black, it's heavy...it's perfect for large hands
It was also 20$ for everything, even the weights. Ex-floor models are awesome. My sidewinder has stood up to a year of abuse and use and misuse no problem. It has never let me down, not even once. I never feel mouse limited in FPS games and it's comfortable enough for a good rpg session if need be. The two side buttons are just perfect. I use all the buttons on the mouse but I wouldn't want any more to be on it. The subtle red lights and sleek black shape look cool too.
I used to love the diamondback but then it went and died after 3 months....yeah real good quality there razer...It wouldn't have scared me away form them so badly had my friend's deathadder died, my other firned's deathadder died, and then my other friend's diamondback also died all within a week of each other after we all got them right after graduating high school. After that, I pretty much decided razer could go **** themselves. -
I like it so much I got his bigger brother MX Revolution. They are both great mouse. -
Logitech VX Nano for the laptop and MS wireless laser mouse 6000 for the desktop.

vinceboiii Animals are friends, not food.
i love the mx518 then i upgradeded to the g5 and got use to it because of the weight i put on it and loved that even more, but the ONLY ONLY con was there was no forward button that was really the down side for me =/ and when i was use to the g5's weight, the mx518 was too light for me but other than that i'd get the g5 any day. i've never tried that g9 i thought the design was weird and looks short and fat the fata1ity's mouse which i didn't like much.

Mine is the Gyrotransport.
It's a really wonderful mouse.
Have a lot of programmable functions. -
Logitech MX518, I swear by them
-
-
i love my ms sidewinder......never looked at another mouse since
-
Another vote for VX revolution. I use it for my desktop and my laptop. Great mouse, and it seems to keep my carpal tunnel pain down.
-
I'd also go with the Logitech MX 518. It's a great gaming and everyday mouse. Extremely sturdy, reliable and accurate.
-
I used the Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 for the longest time... til it finally died on me after over 4-5 years of usage and gaming.
Then I decided to get a laser mouse or gaming mouse.... finally deciding on the Logitech MX518.... ASUS carbon-fiber edition (since the retail MX518 looks like its been thrown against the wall a couple of times).
I would have gotten the G5, but at the time it only had one thumb click. -
Is this restricted to mice only?
For laptops, I really like IBM's Trackpoint with 3 buttons. I've used touchpads and Dell's trackpoint, and IBM wins.
For desktop use, my current favorite is Logitech Trackman wheel. I prefer it over any mouse for everything except gaming. Gaming is the only time I even use a mouse.
For gaming, I have a Logitech MX518 which has been previously depicted. -
+1 MX518 my favorite corded mouse of all time.
-
I'm currently rocking a Logitech G9. It's fantastic for gaming with the Precision grip and my Thermaltake Gamma Pad mouse mat. And then swap the grip for the wide-load grip, and it's bigger, softer and more comfortable for hours of browsing or whatever.
-
Nano VX (great for travelling, the micro USB sender is top) & Microsoft Optical (simple and good performer)
cheers ... -
I like my Sony VGP-BMS33 - can't see anything wrong with it.
But apart from one mouse where the batteries messed up (rechargeable ones) - and which had horrendouos battery life I've been happy with all my mouses.
1 point though - I can't use "full size" mouses... - too large for my taste. -
razer deathadder. the fit and weight of the mouse is perfect for me. i let my sister use my deathadder tonight and she ended droping her laptop and it landed right on the usb connector and bent it really bad. so im looking for a new mouse, i might pick up another deathadder or try something new.

I always liked the Logitech TrackMan (model T-CA1-9F) that I used to have, but they haven't made that one for years.
I wonder if it'd be possible to gut one and stuff optical trackball guts in it, maybe a scroll wheel in the middle button, and either USB or possibly even bluetooth instead of the original serial (which needs some fancy Logitech mouse driver that doesn't even work in 2K/XP from what I'm told!)
-
My Cyber Snipa Stinger. Was/Is my first "proper" mouse, and so far loving it
@DiscoPanda
I haven't seen that trackball(?) in ages! Never used one or saw it in person, but did catch my interest at the time~ -
Kensington Slimblade.
-
-
Logitec Trackman Marble. I used one for 7 years. Cleaned it out about every 6 months. Always smooth.
-
-
Logitech MX1000 FTW!
-
Wow
I see alot of you like using Logitech
At the moment i am using the Microsoft Sidewinder. I'm not really an intense gamer but not any cons i can find for the mouse so far. It's just that it is nice and big and my hand sits comfortably!
Whats your favorite mouse that you've ever used?
