I accidentally broke my LVDS cable 40 pin monitor.

There was a smoking sound (turned it on and didn't realize it was broken). Is there a place that ships to Canada where I can buy a spare LVDS cable?

    Is the panel dead?

Shorts in the cable, even if they're in the middle can damage both the mobo and the panel. If it still doesn't work when you get the cable, that may be what happened.
