To make things, easier, there's only 2 options :D

Neither require an additional AC adapter which is the only reason why I'm buying one of these two.

    1) Western Digital

    2) Seagate

At first I was leaning towards the Seagate because of the stupid software on the WD, but I checked on their website and apparently, there's a program that will remove that crap. So....now I'm lost. Which one is better?

Western Digital comes with software (or my Passport drive did) - bu you can just remove it, format he drive and what have not - you do not need to use it.
In the end it doesn't matter - both are known companies - the WD will posibly be more comfortable to fit into pouches (looking a the design of the cases).

My vote thus goes to it.

Seagate is 5yrs warranty if that means something to you.

Personally, I'd say it's not worth it getting a 1TB 2.5" drive at the moment - the sweet spot for 2.5" external drives is 500GB, while that of 3.5" drives is 1TB.

But between the two, I would choose the Seagate, for its 5 year warranty. Honestly, there's no difference between the two other than the warranty length. Plus, there's even no guarantee the drive inside is from WD/Seagate, each company routinely uses whatever happens to be cheapest at the moment, which is sometimes Hitachi or Samsung.

    2-2...

In that case, I'll just go to BB and pick the one that looks better :D

    Thanks

Isn't the only 2.5" 1TB from WD? I'm not aware of any other 2.5" 1TB drive...

I've always liked Western Digital products myself, although I do own Seagate drives as well. Having to pick between them, however, I'd opt for Western Digital every time.
