I want to connect my laptop to my TV but Im not sure which cable I need. I have a Dell XPS M1730 which has a dual link dvi-i port and my TV has HDMI ports.

I want to use a dvi to hdmi cable but Im unsure which to get. Can I use a DVI-D cable with the dual link DVI-I port on my laptop. Will it fit and will it work?

I am pretty sure it will because it should be backwards compatible.

Think that theres a DVI to HDMI connector..that and a normal HDMI cable.
