hi, guys. I've been looking for a external HDD lately and came across these, I'm a bit confused because they are all similar in pricing? So which one of these below you think i should choose?

I know that the WD has more Cache, however i read from an article from Tom's Hardware that there's hardly any noticeable differences between 8MB and 16MB.

    Thxs.

    Or for even less money.

The Seagate has the longest warranty if that's of interest. Nominal performance and cache size are unlikely to make much difference in usage since USB 2.0 is the bottleneck.

My next external 3.5" HDD will have eSATA so that I don't get the USB 2.0 performance hit. At the moment the manufacturers seem to be charging a big premium for eSATA (which is just a pass-through connector). Maybe I'll get one of these and choose my own HDD separately.

My XPS M1710 doesn't have an eSATA port and my main use for it is just storing my stuffs. All necessary data will be in the main HDD.
    Thxs for the info.
