how do you hold your mouse? claw grip or palm grip? because Razers are designed for "claw-grippers", and Logitech leans towards the "palm-grippers".

performance-wise, there isn't much difference between the three, except that the Logitech model has extra buttons, which can be useful.

if you play a lot of FPS games, I wouldn't recommend getting one with an extremely high dpi, but get one with a high polling rate (1000Hz).

    hope this helps

(edit) oh and one that has customizable weights would be cool. I recommend Logitech G9, but if you're on a tight budget, get razer krait.

You should consider the Steelseries Ikari Optical. I got one a couple of weeks ago for $26 from Newegg and I love it. It has excellent tracking and the best ergonomics of any mouse I've ever used.

I must say I love the Razer DeathAdder. I have tried many mice and this one works best for me.

I own and used the following mice:

    *Razer Diamondback
    *Razer Cooperhead
    *Logitech MX510/519
    *Logitech G5
    *Logitech G7
*Razer DeathAdder (love this one best)

I like Logitech more than Razer. You'd probably be happy with either, but I'd get a MX518

Save a little more chump change and get yourself a SteelSeries Ikari. You'll thank me later.

Disclaimer: I use the Ikari with my gaming desktop, hence why I have the G9 listed in my sig which is a great mouse too but a little more expensive. ;)

ah man. Best Buy has every gaming mice except the ikari steelseries. I want to compare all of them at once and decide what's best for me. In fact, I don't know any stores that have ikari steelseries for me to try out.

Do you enjoy having your hands bunched up so tightly over your mouse that they'll start cramping after an hour or two of use?

If so, the Razer XXXXX may be just the mouse for you!

I'm more a palm-type gamer, so my Lachesis is a hell of a pain in the ***. Prolly palming it off (heh - I'm so clever) to a friend and getting myself either a MS Sidewinder or Steelseries Ikari once I try them out.

Logitech MX518 is over-rated, and should only be considered if there is a really good deal on them (rebate, sale, what have you). The smooth [no grip texture to it] scroll wheel, the typical jumpy Logitech engine at low sensitivity, and small finger drag from palming it if you have big hands [the rightward slope does it] are the biggest problems I've had with the device.

Go for the Krait, even though I have no experience with that particular model - I'm a palm mouser, and I use Razer Copperhead and Razer Diamondback on my machines. I'm a mixed gamer [FPS, RTS, MMO], but I usually end up playing FPS the most. I'd suggest a cheap cloth mousepad (HandStands at Wal-mart for $3 are good, so are Allsop at $8-$10) to go with it. Another to consider is the A4 Tech X7 mouse; it is very accurate, no pixel skipping, and great for big hands. The only down-side to it is it doesn't perform as well on a cloth surface. It does great on Armor-All or Pledge wiped Ratpadz GS though! I'd imagine a 3M Precise surface would work similarly, but they wear down pretty fast.

They're sold at microcenter. I can stop by bestbuy and microcenter when I get the chance. Though they're so darn far apart.
