Personally I'm a fan of TimBuk2 bags, though whatever you end up getting, I'd avoid any computer-branded bags (like that HP) or anything that's too flashy. Such bags generally signal to potential thieves that your bag contains something valuable.

Swissgear make a selection of computer backpacks. I've got a couple - comfortable to wear, not too heavy when empty and with a good selection of pockets. Here's a 17" one.

I second the Everki Titan, it fits my 18" notebook good. It's big but has plenty of pockets and easy to pack.

I vote the Everki Titan as well, even though I have the Everki Beacon. It's one of those backpacks that can fit probably the biggest notebooks, along with a bunch of compartments to put other stuff.

Dude, if you have an Asus G750/G751 ya gotta get an Asus Nomad Backpack, it's designed specifically for the Asus form factor 17" laptops.

And, now for the Asus G752, there is the New Asus Nomad v2!!

It looks like the Nomad v2 is just coming on the market now...no photo's yet, so here is the first generation Nomad video, I had one with my G750JH :)

I have an AspenSport about $50 (forget where I bought it from) that is very nice and it fits my Alienware 18.

Yep I agree. I think the same of most laptop bags to be honest. JanSport have rucksacks with a laptop holder inside, so it's a bit more discreet

Ogio makes bags with good capacity but don't look as bulky, but seeing it in two different threads has me looking at the Everki Titan too.
