Hi all just ordered a toshiba qosmio x300 - 11s but i want to buy a laptop cooler to arrive at the same sort of time (or earlier) i have been reading threads that i found via search and found there are coolers that blow cool air onto the bottom of the laptop and there are others that suck hot air away from the bottom of the laptop.

As i read it the design you pick should depend on how your machine blows out/sucks in could anyone tell me which type of cooler i need for my laptop as i dont know which way the laptops does it.

    Thanks

well i have the same laptop (i think the same model too) but its the qosmio x300 for sure.

i made my own cooler. the laptop sucks cold air in the bottom and blows hot air out the back vent. so i made my fans blow cold air onto the bottom of the laptop vent

here is my link, it gives you a good look on things. i decided to make my own because the vents on the bottom are in a weird place. you will get the best decrease in temperature if the vents align up with the fans exactly.

with mine, i see a decrease from about 65 without the cooler to about 47 with in on the gpu.

torn's option is a real nice option. very cost effective if u'r up to the task.

if u decide to go with a marketed unit, i would suggest the cryo LX. the coolin surface lines up with yur x300's vents perfectly.
