Hello, I'm currently using the Belkin Cooling Pad

    http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=472610

I also see that there is another cooling pad on sale, both for about the same price. I'm trying to figure out if it's a good trade off to switch the cooling pad to the second one which is this one here.

    http://targus.ca/ca/product_details.asp?sku=AWE11CA

So please help me. If the second one is better, I will refund my first one and purchase the second one. With using the first one... I'm liking the curve on it where the hot air goes into and gets blown back out. But the first one is slightly small. My laptop is a 15" and it's bigger than the pad even though the pad was made for 15". But i'm looking for performance wise. Please help me with any info you know about these two pads and experience if you have and or used them before.

    Thank you
    Eric Wong.

None of them. Especially the Targus, I don't like the quality. The belkin looks cool but a very good regarding the performance. Try to find something else. It all depends on your laptop really. If you are not happy with the one you have then change it if you can. Make sure the fans are close to the vents of your laptop or they are big. Thermaltake has some very good coolers but I don't know where you are so I wouldn't know the cost. The Massive23 ST is pretty good and in that price range.
Also that one is good since you can place the fans wherever you like.

Like nklive, I would also personally suggest to find other alternatives besides those two coolers. I was actually thinking of purchasing the Belkin cooler for my XPS, but after reading numerous negative user reviews on both Amazon and Newegg, I ditched the idea. Likewise, the Targus has also had its share of negative reviews on Amazon, with users criticizing its cheap build quality and placement of fans.

I would also advise to checkout Thermaltake Massive or maybe some Cooler Master alternatives like the Notepal Infinite.

I've got 2 questions. Is it a must for the fans to be situated on the bottom vents of your laptop? I just assumed hot air was coming out of it and getting trapped between my laptop and my desk which caused the heat issue. Because i'm using a Dell Vostro 1500 and the vents are located on the bottom left and right center.

Also is the Thermaltake T1000 any good? This is the one that has caught my eyes.

Here you will find a nice review of the Massive 23 ST and comparison to the NZXT Cryo 17.

The T1000 looks much better than the previous coolers that you mentioned.
