Guys i m looking to buy a good gaming mouse, not more than $50-55...
i was looking at the logitech MX518 but it does not has adjustable wieght....now i like my mouse to be heavy since for the past 3 years i have been using a mouse which had 2 AA size batteries in it.....so i aint sure if i wuld be comfortable with it....then i looked at the logitech G5 which has weight but it only has 1 thumb button compared to 2 on the MX518 and my current wireless mouse....
Plz any suggestions as to a wired gaming mouse which has weights? i need to buy it by tommorow![]()

i ordered the vx revolution now, but that is not what you are looking for...
i had the mx 518 and honestly, I didn't like it... so I think that you are doing a good thing by not getting it...
look at some razers ... -
No weights but a Razer Deathadder would be in your budget.
I've also seen the Microsoft Sidewinder on sale for around $50~$60 so maybe you can scoop one up on eBay.
The Logitech G9 (which I have) is an awesome mouse albeit on the pricey side. Again perhaps you can find it for less on eBay. -
man i m buying from a store near my place, they only have the entire range of logitech and microsoft mice, nothing else...problem is that the G5 is shown on logitech's website as having 2 thumb buttons BUT the G5 they have in the store is 1 thumb button.....dunno why if they had the 2 button version i wuld have been sold.......
-
umar, I just bought (accidentally) two Razer DeathAdders...they aren't weight adjustable, but let me know if you're interested in a brand new one...def less than $50.
P.S. I LOVE my DeathAdder, after a few days of getting used to it, headshots are plentiful and knife wars are more often won than lostThe mouse seriously rocks.
-
Sorry meatloaf i cant buy from the internet thats the problem dont have a credit card/paypall anything....BUT if i culd i wuld definitely have gotten it from u cuz i read some reviews and its vey nice and its not even available where i live
-
I love my Logitech G5... great gaming mouse imo
-
man currently i use a stupid A4 Tech wireless optical mouse and it sucks for gaming big time, it goes into sleep mode all the time and that really hurts me in games
-
Oh man, Wireless + First Person Shooter = teh sux0rz
...been there done that, even my Vx Revolution (which is an EXCELLENT wireless mouse) didn't do me justice.
Are you in Pakistan? -
yeah I am from Pakistan but currently i m in Saudi Arabia till June,
dont tell me that u r in Pakistan as well, lol cuz i wuld be so pissed cuz if i was in Pak currently i wuld have picked the mouse from u personally -
Haha, no, I'm pretty much on the opposite side of the globe...good 'ole Provo, Utah, USA...
I'll be in Vegas in a week though, I'm sure you could find a cheap flight in -
lol...wish i culd man wish i culd
-
Im looking at getting this or a Mx518 -
Death Adders are very nice +1
-
Hey flip, hehe..."do you ship to au"...that makes me feel all important or something. I guess I'd have to look and see how much it would cost to get it to you...I'm going to post it in the For sale section, as I don't want to threadcap.

Try and pick up the Microsfot Sidewinder. Not sure how much it is at the stores near you, but I find that it is a great mouse. I am like you and like my mouse heavy (I use high sensitivity, so it helps prevent me from TOO much movement). I used to be a "Logitech Only" mouse user, but the MS Sidewinder did not disappoint me. I like the thumb buttons better, it is easier for me to move my thumb up and down as opposed to forward and backwards to hit the thumb buttons.
-
Wuman, how do you find access to that third side button is? I consider the SW but I figured my thumb would always hit one of those two silver buttons when trying to press that black side button. I could never find one to demo so that's why I opted for the G9.

I think there's a verision of the G5 that has 2 thumb buttons
-
I'm in the same boat, but I need a mouse to be wireless so I can have my laptop hooked up to my HD TV and be able to sit on a couch and browse when I'm not gaming. Any suggestion to a good wireless mouse that's decent for gaming? I'm not a hardcore gamer and think about getting a VX Revolution.
-
Wireless good for gaming?
Logitech G7 hands down. -
@ signal2noise
That black 3rd button is almost never used. It is put way out there on purpose. That is the mouse's dedicated macro creation button. the SW is really a 5 button mouse. Left, right, 2 thumbs, and the wheel click. Some ppl need more, but 5 is enough for me and shooters. I am glad the black button is not easily accessible, otherwise I would be accidentally creating macros when I didn't want to. As far as I can tell, you cannot "Easily" reassign that button to do anything else. Just like the 3 dedicated DPI buttons and the Intellpoint button(the silver one that sits under your palm). -
Yes, don't buy wireless. Don't buy sidewinder, theres plenty of bad reviews on it. Adjustable weights are usually just gimmick. If you can get a Razer DeathAdder, get one, i have one too and its awesome.
-
man the problem is that i cant buy a DeathAdder cuz its not available and i cant buy from the net....otherwise i definitely wuld have gotten that....AND i need adjsutable weights cuz i plan on using them to make my mouse heave because for the last 2and a half years i have been using a wireless mouse which required 2 AA size batteries so it was quite heavy..whenever i play at my friends i feel awkard when using their much lighter mouse....man i m really confused i didn't buy yet am holding on for 3-4 more days cuz the gy said a new stock delivery is coming and maybe it wuld have the 2 thumb button G5 otherwise i will buy the MX518
-
Thanks, wuman. That makes sense then. Next time I see one on sale I may have to pick it up to try.
-
Just have patience and wait for Deathadder..
dont buy a mouse you dont like.. -
How's your stock in Razer doing, noct?

MX518 is the best mouse I have ever used period, the G5 (the new one) is close but not as good IMO, and for wireless and thus what I use with my laptop the G7.
-
Just got the G5(V2) today. Amazing!!
Comfort, and Performance.
If you plan on playing FPS games, you gotta have on-the-fly DPI switch. Gets me a lot more headshots -
Any mouse is fine for me.
-
Deathadder rules! Hate Logitech software.
-
sidewinder rules..............................we could have a very sophisticated debate about this
and get nowhere.
-
i got the MX-518....the store got the 2 thumb button G5 in today when i went to check again but they were charging abt $40 more for it than the MX-518...just cuz it was lazer according to the assistant....i did not have that much money so i got the MX
-
after an hour of using it i must say i m amazed at how good it is....i only have two problems with it...first the DPI adjustment buttons dont always work at first attemp they require fair bit of force to press. ...also the wheel feels a bit weird....it also requires a fair amount of force and is a bit shallow

I use a Razer Diamondback Plasma, it is a good gaming mouse, but these days some people want more than 1600dpi, and it is more expensive than its Logitech equals. I like how it handles and the sort of stuff, so i'm happy with it.
Take a look at Logitechs and Razers, you want 1600dpi+ and On-the-fly sensitively though. -
I like Logitech mice more than Razer and like my G9 most of all. Onboard mouse memory for macros is a great feature. There's no need to install mouse software on every computer once it's set.
-
i just got my razer lachesis today in the mail and i love it.coming from a wireless mouse playing halo ce until i get my laptop tomorrow this was amazing.i am now getting at least 3x as many kills now.
-
Got my G5 (V2) a few days ago and all I can say is : On-The-Fly DPI switching FTW
-
I hope the MX continues to work out well for you. I got a Logitech G9 for about $65 that I love.
-
i am beggining to hate the mouse wheel...it requires an amazing amount of force to press....i m gonna see if i can get someone to lend me the extra cash and gonna take it back to the the store today to exchange it for a G5
-
I think some mice take some time to "break in" after which it might be easier to press the mouse wheel. It's up to you.
-
dunno man i am going to the store in abt an hour and will exchange it for the G5 or the G9 whichever one i find the mouse wheel better..(this time i will test it b4 buying)
-
Make sure you try both options for the mousewheel on the G9. There's a button on the bottom of the mouse to enable ratcheting or not. I love my G9.
-
Razers are key bud.
I have a copperhead and a deathadder, and I love them both. -
I got the G5(2 thumb button) the G9 way out of my budget (got mum to give me early pocket money) I must say that i like it way better than the MX-518...the mouse wheel is galaxies better and the sentivity adjustment buttons are also much better...And i absolutely love the weight adjustment i got exactly the weight i want....
PS: i have another question...do gaming keyboards really make much difference...i am not a big fan of macros but right now i have a wireless microsoft keyboard and was wondering if the wired G11 will be better...what do u guys think cuz if u say a wired keyboard is better for gaming than i wil get it next month after my IGCSE exams....
PPS: EDIT sorry guys i got the G5 not the G7 its was typo -
I don't think keyboards make as big of a difference but then again I use a thinkpad, so the keyboard is pretty good already. G11/G15 is pretty sexy though, I'm thinking about getting one when it goes on sale. It'd be good if you use macros or if your current keyboard is sucky.
G7 is basically a wireless G5, some "hardcore" gamers won't ever go wireless but G7 sounds like a good mouse. -
Glad you've finally got a mouse you like. How much did the G7 cost you?
-
holy crap i wrote G7 there....my bad i have gotten a G5 really sorry at the typo....Well scooberdoober the G5 cost me abt US $75 i know thats it a lot but well what can i say....
-
The G5 is one of my favorites, I think it's much better than the G7.
Well, you've got one of the best there, enjoy it! -
-
i use an mx518 and it ROCKS!
Which gaming mouse to choose?
