    i want one for my laptop (see sig)...

    2 years ago zalman was the top one...but its quite bulky.

    is there a smaller more compact one?

    I use CoolerMaster notepal U2 exactly because it is not bulky but at the same time it cools good. Also you can find U3

    i am still using zalman nc2000.
    Bulky — is an advantage for me since i can just throw this thing on a couch and it creates a solid surface for a notebook to work on.

    It is U2. U3 is bigger. check official site to know characteristic and size. Also U3 has 3 fans unlike U2 with only 2. I bought mine because in my country is impossible to find U3.

    i ended up buying notepal X2 by coolermaster
