Do you use/prefer a touchpad, exterior, or pencil end kind (you know, the really old ones) mouse better?
-
Mouse. Without a doubt. I mean the common one.
-
Mine isn't an option
I love my Wireless Optical Logitech V270 Bluetooth Mouse. -
I loved the USB mouse I had, until it got taken away from me to be used on the desktop. Waa.
-
I love my Logitech MX610. Great mouse and a lot of customizable buttons
I want to try the pen thing, should be really easy for photoshop.
-
I use to just use the default mini Asus mouse that came with my notebook but seeing that I lost it I tend to just stick to using the touchpad now.

Logitech MX1000 or Logitech vXRevolution
The touch pad isn't bad, and I also like my tablet. -
Logitech VX revolution all the way
As backup, I use the microsoft wireless optical notebook mouse... small and efficient! -
Currently also using the little logitech rebrand that came with the Asus, but I'll probably get something like the logitech V200/V450 soon. I used to have a Microsoft 4000 optical mouse, but I sold it with my old laptop.
-
I presume by "the pencil end kind" you mean a pointing stick, commonly referred to as a TrackPoint or AccuPoint?
-
when applicable I prefer a wireless lazer mouse.
-
By pencil end I mean those old things that look like a pencil eraser that sticks out of the keyboard or some where around there.
-
i have a Microsoft Laser 8000 bluetooth which is lovely lol
-
Genius Netscroll+ MiniTraveler - I use it every day, small and convenient (in fact, I don't want to go back to bigger mice after that), also the same silver color as my lappie
-
mouse all the way!

VX revolution <3

VX Revolution +1

My USB i-rocks Superman Mouse is just fine at the moment.
-
I've got a Targus Notebook mouse with the retractable USB cord.
I do use the touchpad when on the go. -
I use a combination of both. Mouse when on AC power, touchpad on DC power. Don't really know why, but i heard that the when an external mouse is plugged in, it consumes a bit of the laptop battery (My mouse is an optical wired one).
-
there is nothing like T.H.E. T.O.U.C.H. P.A.D. it so easy to use, its so close to the keyboard that all you have to do is move you fingers a few cm to change a typing error, shoot someone in a FPS, and you can program corners to go forwards/back/min/max and so on.

The Kensington Ci65m Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse is the best of the best.
-
It is all about the USB mouse. I prefer any MX5xx series mouse because they glide so beautifully.
-

Awesome laptops Notebook Evangelist
I like mouses best they are sensitive and easy to control
-
I love my logitech v270 bluetooth mouse especially since no dongle is needed. Its highly recommended
-
Logitech VX revolution is the beast of desire! I can't imagine being able to navigate my notebook before I got one.
-
I use a 20 dollar microsoft laser mouse and it seems to do the job good. I also have the mighty mouse but i use that on my macbook and powerbook.
-
I love my gyration air mouse - it came in a bundle w/ the wireless keyboard. Imagine having cursor control on your home theatre pc by waving the mouse around Wii style (Mine is connected currently to my HP Slimline MediaCenter PC connected to a Sony 42" tv).
80% of the time I use the touchpad on my laptop - I always hated and avoided those trackpoint devices(eraserhead).
The rest of the time on my laptop, I use a USB handheld trackball when I didn't want to be hunched over the laptop (on a plane, car, sitting back in your chair). The unit sits comfortably in your hand and you move the cursor w/ the trackball under your thumb - clicking is done by a trigger button under your forefinger. This is meant for casual clicking though, as if you have to go back and forth between the keyboard, you end up having to pick it up and put it down alot.
When I'm doing serious work and need a real mouse, I've got 2 bluetooth mice to use with my SZ Vaio w built in bluetooth. One is a cheapie & small notebook mouse that is about the size of a hotwheel toy. It's rechargeable and shaped nicely for use. It's probably one of the smallest bluetooth mice around. The second bluetooth mouse is part of a Dell bluetooth keyboard and mouse bundle I got for $20 off woot.com. It works ok, but I wish the part w/ buttons was higher and easier to press.
I'm considering picking up a Mogo Mouse , that's the mouse that's bluetooth, stores and charges in your PCMCIA slot and is as thin as your PCMCIA slot. I'm hesitant because of the lack of scroll feature. If you're lucky enough to have an expresscard54 slot in your notebook, then you can use their new product that goes in that slot available in June'07- IT will have scrolling via a touchpad in the middle where the scroller would be. I wish they re-engineered their PCMCIA product to have a scrollpad, too. -
touch pad works fine for everyday apps (IE, outlook, word, etc.). i use a wacom intuos pen tablet for photoshop. just picked up a logitech vx revolution for use with lightroom + capture nx. imo, best wireless mouse out there! i just wish it was bluetooth
-
right now i use an old optical logitech mouse, i use the touchpad on the go but for counter strike, touchpad wont cut it..i just ordered a MX518 gaming mouse from Newegg which should be here Monday or tuesday

Well, now im loving the 2000dpi on my mouse.
I got used it and its great. -
I've now got a Razer Diamondback optical mouse + Razer Mantis Speed mousepad. It's the best I've ever used.
-
If you have room, use an external mouse, especially a laser one. If that's an issue, I like the trackpad more than I like the nipple mouse. But that's just me
-
Metamorphical Good computer user
Touchpad! I'm way to lazy to carry a mouse with me. But I also like mouses obvious. =D
-
I've never been much good with a touchpad...so it's external mouse even when I'm away from my desk.
-
I've heard the touchpad has issues, and the mouse it just easier to use so i go for mouse. Mouse FTW. Maybe use touchpad if on the go.
-
Regular mouse all the way. Beyond that, the IBM pencil eraser isn't bad if there's no hard surface for the regular mouse.
-
I would have voted for trackpad, but my last two ASUS notebooks have had the hardest-to-press trackpad buttons.
So, now I'm a Logitech V270 convert too. ASUS includes this mouse with their Lamborghini VX2, which is how I came to like it. Now, if only I could get that leather mousepad ASUS includes in that package... -
I still use a wired USB optical mouse, as I could never get used to the laptop touchpads (even after all these years). I could probably get a wireless mouse, but my lappy rarely leaves my desk anyway...................
-
im gonna buy the g5 but hey ima gamer what can i say??
-
I am using the Logitech G5 Battlefield Edition mouse right now
-
Still using my Logitech V270 without any issues for 2+ years. This Bluetooth Mouse is a bang for the buck. Great battery life!
-
Not a bad idea:

I've had my logitech g7 for over 1 year and it's great the new model look very nice
-
I prefer an external mouse, but I simply cannot use a touchpad. I can only seem to navigate efficiently with a pointing stick.

I can use a touchpad for just web sufing or general computer related tasks like word processing. But for games I need a mouse, and for photoshop I need a mouse or my wacom.
I can use the wacom pretty well for everything aswell. -
My laptop has a pointing stick and I have formed this opinion based on my usage since last September.
In order of best to worse: External mouse > pointing stick > touchpad
I have both a Razer DeathAdder gaming mouse and the Logitech VX Revolution. Concerning the VX, unless you need the scroll wheel for long documents or spreadsheets, I would go elsewhere. For the money you don't get much tbh. Shame, could have bought 4 DVDs for the moneyWhat I'm saying is there are plenty of other 5 button mice with a dedicated search button. What bothers me most is that the middle click on the VX isn't quite right
The Razer on the other hand is perfect. Everything is so easy to press, as you'd expect from a premium gaming mouse and every action is silky smooth
I think a nice cheaper gaming mouse like a G5 is the best route imho for many buyers. Best of both worlds. Who says you can't have your cake and eat it? -
the touchpad is really bad when it comes to gaming so I'll go with a normal mouse (external I think)
Which kind of mouse?
