I am looking at mice to replace my Dell Premium Optical Mouse, which is dreadful. I am willing to spend up to $140NZ and will be buying from www.ascent.co.nz. The mice I am looking at currently are:

    Microsoft Sidewinder
    Logitech G9
    Logitech MX Revolution

I don't game heavily, though I do play San Andreas Multiplayer quite a bit and I use all of the mouse buttons to execute commands, so I need at least 5 buttons, preferably more. I would like to here peoples comments on all of the mice, and others I should consider.

    Logitech G5 Version 2!!! FTW

But when buying a mouse go try some out at your local electronics store even if prices are a rip just get the feel. Each person is different and for me it was the G5 which raised my kill death ration from 1kill/2death to 2kill/1death.

Logitech G5 or the G9 are good choices. you should also look into razer products.

VX nano = wireless.. Less performance.

Razor products = GREAT in performance but are very WEAK in longevity.

G9/5 = are inbetween GOOD performance and Good longevity

My razer diamondback was only 30 bucks off woot.com (i was so pissed when they had a wootoff with it for 5 dollars cheaper a week after i bought it). 1600dpi, 7 programmable buttons. Can't be beaten for the price.

its not :p was told that at UNAMED COMPUTER STORE... its about performance and not comfort. but I found the non stop scroll wheel made it more annoying then a OEM mouse.

But IMO no comfort no performance

OK, so after looking at peoples comments, I'm deciding between the Logitech G5 and the MX Revolution, and the only things I really want to know is if the default software allows macros to be set on both of them, and if the thumb wheel on the MX Revolution can be set to do things other than the stupid window switching.
