I cannot decided between the Logitech G5 laser mouse or the Microsoft Sidewinder...

    I'm so indecisive.

    Which product performs better?

It really depends on how you hold your mouse. Everyone is unique, but there are 2 main styles.

FTaW, you plant you wrist on the desk and move the mouse around with
your fingertips (FTaW=fingertip and wrist) I am a FtaW guy

PaA, you hold the mouse in the palm of your hand and move the mouse
around with a compitation of your elbow, wrist, and sholder (PaA=palm
    and arm)

The microsoft sidewinder is only good for PaA people, it's very uncomfortable if your fall into the FTaW croud.

The Logitech G5 is more versital it's comfortable for FTaW and PaA people. I have never used the G5 either, but I use a mx518 as a backup, it's just an optical verision of the G5. It's quite comfortable, I used it as my primary mouse for a long time. The G5 is also one of the most popular gaming mice of all time. I would get the G5 if I was you

check out razor copperhead? Go to razorzone.com. There are nice gaming mice here, but you can't go wrong with the G5 though.

Get an MX518. I prefer the feel of it and the mouse wheel is easier to press down for things like opening tabs in Firefox. Also, it was both forward and backward side button rather than the one the G5 and 7 have. You can easily find 518s for around $30-40 or so.

well its tried n tested... i tried MX518 also but it has sweat issues... Deathadders surface is made of rubberised material..it absorbs & dissipates sweat ...

    U have any doubt?

I use a G5. It'll eat the DeathAdder for breakfast any day :) The G5 is already a little on the small side, which means some amount of discomfort; the DeathAdder is smaller still.

If you've got regular-sized hands, I think the G5 will provide a more comfortable experience. Or it might not. -shrug- Try them out first?

Which reviews would those be? I'v only herd so-so reviews at best. I've personally used the Sidewinder and its bloody awful. You can't even use all the thumb buttons. It's better than a toutchpad, but not by much.

    G9 looks fugly! :)

What about the Logitech G7? Best mouse I've ever used. Plus its wireless. Has 2 rechargable batteries included with a USB recharging station. Its a laser mouse, looks awesome, and has a nice textured rubber feel to it. The black looks badass. Love not having wires cluttering my desk, plus it performs flawless in all my gaming needs!

Who cares about looks, it works better than any other mouse I've tried, and I've tried many of the good gaming mice. I like the way it looks; very high tech.

I tried wireless gaming mice and found them to have some measure of lag, and this was unacceptable, that's why the best mice are hard wired.

I am a "Wrist on the table" mouser. I have maybe a little smaller than average hands. I had an MX518 which is just like the G5 but optical and corded. Felt very good I liked it. But I "upgraded" to a Deathadder about 8 months ago and it is sweet for gaming. My only complaint is DPI switching is cumbersome (no on the fly like the MX518). I wouldn't recommend cordless for gaming. Just my personal opinion.
