Currently i'm still using my Microsoft arc mouse that I had. It's a great mouse, but I just can't use it for gaming. Not accurate enough.

I was thinking about getting a new mouse, do you guys have any personal suggestions?

I thought this looked pretty awesome, but then I tried to picture myself pulling this out at a Starbucks and thought... Oh dear...

Amazon.com: Cyborg R.A.T. 5 Gaming Mouse for PC: Electronics

I was thinking maybe I could still go with a wireless mouse if it was more accurate than the microsoft arc?

I have a Razer Orochi that I'm loving.. Uses bluetooth or wired. Not the most intense mouse, but it works pretty well IMO. I dont like that it takes so long to link up to the bluetooth when the computer wakes from sleep/ turns on. could be my bluetooth adapter though. AND! i cant figure out how to get my mouse to work with with the configurator! irritating me. had to reinstall everything to get the thing to show up in the first place, but now it always says no mouse detected and closes when i try to use it. (yes, i have the mouse plugged in lol)

Had a Razer Mamba for a little bit, but I decided it was too big for the way I hold the mouse, and I didn't like that I had to have the base station plugged in to make it wireless..

Yeah, not a fan of the Mamba at all. I was seriously considering it since it was billed as wireless with minimal lag. But, the need for the base station, etc, just completely put me off.

I use the Deathadder with my 8150. Love it. I had the Diamondback before, and loved it as well.

Dude that R.A.T. looks... like it a prototype model. I'm planning to use my Logitech VX Nano.

I actually use the Logitech G700 and I like it. It's wireless (which I do take some jabs for but I like the freedom :)) and it has worked well for me in the past.

I'm a Logitech guy when it come's to mice. I have the G5 for wired and the G700 for wired(while charging)/wireless combo. I'd recommend both to you.

You should probably know the new version of the G5 is called the G500 which I'll be getting if my G5 should go on me. But it's been a few years and it's still good as new.

As for the R.A.T. I tried it out at my local computer store and it's really not the most comfortable thing out there. Sure it's got a couple nice features and heavy customization so you can shape it how you like it. But it's just not my kind of mouse.

I mean its really up to you. If you want something that looks cool then a razer mouse might be nice, but if you want a good quality mouse I would have to reccommend the m505

I actly just submited a review for it today on Newegg. I got it for Christmas. And its been several months now, and I can honestly say, I have not replaced the batteries once. it's a little small, because I have huge hands, but I've gotten use to it, and it does everything I want it to do. Wakes up instantly from sleep. and never, not once bugged out on me or was too slow to get a headshot! :p

it may not be sexy, but after buying this Thermaltake Massive 23 LX cooler, I have promised myself, I will buy no other peripherals or accessories , just because it looks cool and lights up. xD

I have two razer mice. the Razer Imperator and the Razer Salmosa (a tiny one)

Both are accurate, solid and do the job. I'd say any razer mouse would be good, but i've had experience with razer only. So, you can take some of the previous post-ers advice with more weight.

Ditto on the G700................really like this mouse too. Previously used VX revolution..........good mouse, didn't last as long as I'd have liked and a Razor copperhead...............hated everything about it !

The R.A.T. line of gaming mice is actually one of the most celebrated by gamers. It "looks like a prototype model" because several parts can be extended/retracted, and even completely removed, just to suit the needs of each individual gamer. With that, it offers a degree of customization that few competitors can match.

That being said, I am a Razer lover myself, though not so madly that I would put down money on the Mamba. I have used Logitechs as well, and they are definitely more than decent.

A note about my experience with Razer quality. While many have mentioned the questionable or poor quality of their products, I have not experienced it on my end. I have had my Diamondback for close to 5 years now, and it may be beat up, but it still works like a charm with the cord still firmly attached on both ends. Have a Razer Piranha for about 4 years - still works with no visible or audible defects. I received a Deathadder for my birthday last year, and it's one of the best mice I have ever used. I also know someone who owns and STILL USES the original Boomslang ball mouse.

I went from using an Apple Mouse, which the scroll wheel died, overall crappy mouse, to a ty basic dell mouse. Finally did some research and went out and bought the G700. Very similar to the best Razer, but about $40 cheaper. Got it for $80 off amazon. Its on the heavier side, but thats fine with me. It is wired and wireless, which is awesome in my opinion. Only bad thing is the battery life on it sucks. If you use your computer very often, expect to have the mouse plugged in at night when you go to sleep to charge it. Otherwise, great mouse.

EDIT: Also, the other negative is the wireless receiver is one USB port and the wire for making the mouse wired/charge is another USB port. So it can take up two USB ports.

Might as well just buy a Desktop if you have to lug one of those around with you all the time with your laptop :p

I still use my MX-518 that I bought along with my first laptop almost 6(!) years ago. I'm very satisfied with it, extremely comfortable and obviously very durable. :)

If you don't mind a wired mouse, check out the Razer DeathAdder. 3,500 DPI optical sensor, 5 buttons, the best shape in the world as far as I'm concerned, and $45 on Amazon.

If it has to be wireless, your choices for gaming-grade mice are pretty much down to the Razer Mamba and Logitech G700. That is, unless you would want something like the Razer Orochi, which is a regular Bluetooth mouse but can be plugged in via USB to become a portable full-power gaming mouse.
