I have my laptop on my desk and the sub about a foot behind it on the desk, and the 2 satellites on either side. Even with the bass low the entire desk vibrates and the laptop is kinda vibrating lol. Is this going to wreck my laptop?

BTW I just got this Logitech X-230 system in for $35 shipped and all I can say is...wow. It makes it feel like surround sound, so clear, and I havent gone over half volume on the speakers or windows volume because it gets too loud.

How high is it vibrating? I doubt that its going to destroy your notebook unless it vibrates it off the desk and to the floor...

Even if it doesn't fall on the floor, the vibrating might be bad for the HDD. I'm not sure, but many people with HDD MP3 players say not to jog with them or else you risk damaging the hard drive. My iAudio X5 has been barely used because of this. I say, if not using your sub prevents you from enjoying your notebook, then use it anyway. What's the point of having a working notebook if you can't enjoy it?

Why not put the sub on the floor, that's where it's designed to go anyway, right?

As above, it's not meant to be put on the desk

It'll also sound better - subs have more oomph if they are surrounded by reflective enclosed spaces. I've heard of people buying concrete slabs and putting subs on them.

I'd put the sub on the floor, and in a corner if at all possible ;) it will sound much more powerful. I have my Bose sub about a foot from the corner. Supposedly, it improves accuracy.
