I'm a little hesitant to make this thread as there are a ton out right now, but I'd really like some personal opinions.
Anyways... I currently have a Logitech M305. It's nice, but as I'm buying a gaming laptop, I'd like to have a nicer mouse since mine only has 2 buttons lol.
Games I'll be for sure playing are the Bioshock series, Skyrim, LoL, Dota 2 if it interests me, Maplestory, and maybe FF14/Diablo(not guarantees).
While reading other threads, I noticed that the G700 is highly recommended. For how much praise it gets, I find it odd that the cord hinders movement(according to a few comments). The mouse looks really good though and the buttons look like they're in good spots. There's also the G700s which is similar I guess?
Razer makes some sick looking miceThe Naga series looks like it has a lot of potential.
I actually don't need to buy it now since I don't have much time to play yet, so that lets me get a deal during black friday/thanksgiving/christmas/new years.
Any comments will be greatly appreciated![]()

The G700 & G700s, are the same except for a slight difference in looks, and dpi. Both are primarily a wireless mouse, thus for the most part the cord should be incidental. But the cord is a little stiff. So if the battery dies and you have use it wired, just note the cord is stiff. It uses AA rechargeable batteries, which I have extras, so you can just swap them out rather than go corded.
I like it, so it's on my want to buy list. -
If you want to use the G700 in wired mode, buy a different USB cable, a thin and flexible one.

A possible cord would be something like this, then? I have a bunch of rechargeable batteries
Any other mouse recommendations? -
I have a Logitech G100s and have no complaints for what I paid, plus I have small hands and the mouse fits nicely.

If you like buttons, have you looked at the MMO mice? MMO Gaming Mice Roundup - TechSpot
-
Guess I should add how I hold this tiny mouse. I'd say I use a hybrid claw/fingertip grip. The mouse is way to small to have ever experienced a full palm grip. I think I tend to do a claw grip more when I get really focused in LoL. Relaxed browsing would be fingertip or lowered claw. -
The Logitech G9x is a nice wired mouse. Worked great for me. I currently use the G700s.
-
There's also the new Naga, which looks very similar to the G600 since it now has mechanical buttons and left/right clicks for the scroller.
Looking around the web, a lot of people mentioned that the G600 is superior to the Naga due to quality, materials etc. The Naga is a bit smaller, but the G600 is lighter.
On a side note, are mouse pads necessary? This is what I have now: -
The G600 is called a MMO mouse because it is made for games like WOW. Those games need a lot of buttons because you have a ton of actions you can do. This way you can map an action to a button. Most other games do not have that many actions. Have you looked at the button arrangement and thought how you would map each button? How many buttons do you need?
Personally I like lots of buttons. But I like the arrangement on the G700 better.
Have you seen the G602? http://www.geek.com/review/logitech-g602-review-a-gaming-mouse-that-harnesses-the-power-of-science-1571312/
As for mouse pads, well you don't need them for most mice. Mostly I find they are for the hand. My hand rests on the mouse pad. So padding from the wood desk is nice. I also have a slick, teflon type mouse pad. That makes it easy for my hand to slide. Also my mouse pad is over sized, so I don't worry about falling off mid game. -
Button-wise... As I said earlier, I honestly don't know. I could use 6 at most for LoL, and that's really rare since I never have 6 usable items at one time. Maybe I could program a button to self-cast on certain champs.
I doubt I'll have enough time to play an MMO like WoW, Diablo, or GW due to school, though. Engineering turned out to be a lot more time consuming than I thought haha. So I guess I don't need a 15~20 button mouse.
I've never really been into FPS's that much, so I doubt I'd ever buy one. The only FPS I've played is CoD, though. They just don't seem interesting IMO. I would much rather play something like an RPG
So I guess I'm left with the G700/700s(+ an aftermarket cable) and the Razer DeathAdder? I threw in the DeathAdder there since a lot of people seem to really like it. Differences would be buttons, of course, and software/reliability/etc. Did I miss anything else? -
Did you see my link to the G602? You might like it.

In the old days wireless mice had lag, and would go to sleep mid-game. Those issues are resolved with modern wireless gaming mice. I suppose the G700 lets you try it both ways.
The cord on the G700 is stiff enough to move the mouse when you let go. So you will have some movement resistance. On the other hand it seems easy to use a different cord. -
-
Ok, I hate wireless gaming mice myself. If you want a wired gaming mouse, I would stay away from the G700. Get something that is wired-only. I see no reason to get the G700 over the G500 if you don't want wireless. And if that doesn't have enough buttons for you, you can go for the G600 or a Razer Naga.
-
I would get the G600, but I most likely wont utilize every single button, so I don't know if that's exactly a bad thing?
I'm really picky, huh? Sorry lolI just don't wanna be stuck with something I don't like, you know?

If you want a decent wired mouse with plenty of buttons, the Razer Naga is definitely a solid choice. The build is solid and the wire is durable, with the only downside being Razer's Synapse software (it's alrightish if it works, absolute if it doesn't). Shoot for a 2012 model if you can as the 2013 model no longer has the exchangeable palm rests on the side (to my knowledge).
I've used the mouse almost daily for over a year and have had no issues thus far. -

I recently went from the original Razer Naga to the Razer Naga 2014, and i highly recommend it.
The improved ergonomics has definitely been noticed. The material is great for my sweaty palms too, it makes it very comfortable and almost anti-sweat, lol.
I play similar games as you do, with MMOs being my primary genre (hence R Naga) and MOBAs/FPS as my games with friends mostly, and the Naga is more than enough to handle any of them. I've found quite a good use for the Naga keys/macros for Dota 2 as well, makes courier management easier, automated chats and so on.
I haven't had any experience with Logitech mice mainly because I didn't find the need to switch brands. Been happy with Razer so far. -
I am personally more partial to the Naga (I own one), but I suppose either would work. I suppose that it would come down to price and which one you prefer more in terms of appearance.
-
I've been using a logitech g500 for close to year. 10 programmable buttons, and the software is pretty easy to use. I have 6 different profiles set up, 1 for desktop, 5 for various games (one of which is DOTA). It is a medium-to-big sized mouse, and the weight can be adjusted (there is a cartridge that slides out that you can put in various weights). You should be able to pick one up for $40-$50 US. Pretty durable as well, I've had mine go flinging off my desk more than once and it still works.
-
The buttons below the mousewheel (instead of to the left of the LMB) seems a bit odd too. I liked the ones on the left of the LMB actually. It's still usable, I use it a lot, but I liked the other one better. Lol. -

Searched a ton on G600 vs Naga. I think I saw more recommendations for the G600, but I could be wrong.
Some differences off the top of my head are:
Naga is smaller
G600 has a ring click(oh wait, the 2014 Naga apparently has this now? or is that just a pinky rest?)
G600 has an unlocked scroll option
G600 is lighter?
Synapse is complained about by a lot (but not all) of people
Logitech's software is more user friendly?
G600 side buttons are easier to press/locate
Naga has double click issues and/or left/right click issues?
Logitech has better quality control?
Logitech customer support/warranty is better?
Let me know what I missed... Leaning towards the G600, tbh. There seemed to be much less complaints about it than the Naga. -
So I've decided against the G600/Naga since I wouldn't be able to grip it with my thumb due to the buttons... *sighs*
The Deathadder looks really nice and has pretty decent reviews, but then there's the infamous doubleclick issue that all Razer mice have.
The SteelSeries Sensei seems just as good as the Deathadder, but without the doubleclick issue(don't quote me on this). But it is a lot more expensive.
What other options do I have...? Again, I use a hybrid claw/fingertip grip when playing LoL and a hybrid palm/fingertip grip when browsing the web.
I also think I will get a new mousepad. Mine is a little too small and I've noticed that it has very little grip on my desk. Any recommendations? The top ones on Amazon are the SteelSeries QcK variants and the Razer Goliathus variants. All I ask is that it's not terribly large and is under ~$15. -
In terms of mousepads, I have a Goliathus (the largest one that isn't the really long one that goes under your keyboard) and I'm really satisfied. It's probably the one Razer product without any drawbacks whatsoever. The surface is great and the mat doesn't slide at all. -
What about speed vs control on the Goliathus? -
-
In terms of the Goliathus, I have a speed edition. The difference between the two is that while the speed model has a slick, tightly woven surface, the control model has a bit more texture to it and is made of a less 'slippery' material (I haven't actually used the control model myself). I went for the speed model because I play a lot of twitchy shooters, but as far as I know, there isn't too much difference between the two, though I suppose you'd notice something if you had both for reference. -
Decided on either the Zowie FK, G400s, or this Ninox Aurora. They're all smallish mice for claw grips and have a "flawless" sensor.
Anyways, thanks for all the help! Really appreciate it. -
got a G300 for 1 year ...
negative side: the placement of buttons to play
positive side: the several hardware/software setup -
I swear by the Razer Naga. I have an Original Naga and 2 2013 models (1 sits at work, 1 in backpack and the OG is a backup). I work all day long and game on the same naga day in day out. Only recently work bought me one to stay at work and lower the miles I put on my mobile mouse. For MMO players such as myself its a God sent piece of hardware, and even if you dont play MMOs its a comfortable mouse with nice attachments for every user.
