I'm looking to run a wireless mouse and keyboard from distances of 12-15 feet. Do I have to use bluetooth for these distances or do most wireless devices extend this far? I'm looking at the Logitech Nano or VX revolution as a possibility for a mouse.

Most wireless keyboards and mice have no problems with that distance. My ultra-cheap $10 wireless keyboard has a practical range of >20 feet.

Alright, I'm curious. Why are you going to be so far away?

My HP Elite Wireless Keyboard has great range, though I have no real reason to take it that far away.
