Does anyone have any suggestions? I know wired is the preferred setup for gaming but I would like to be wireless. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thanks.

There are two kinds of gaming keyboards:

    1) Cheap "key"board, great features. This is going to be something like a Logitech G19, with tons of macros and programmability. But it will use cheap mediocre membrane dome keystroke motion.

    2) Great "key"board, moderate features. This is going to be a mechanical keyboard like a Deck Legend, Corsair K60/K90, Das Ultimate. They will use mechanical key switches, which will have superior motion and feedback compared to cheap membrane dome keyboards. Some may have backlighting, some may have programmable macros.

Neither one of these two options are "wireless" for a very simple reason: a pro-gamer will value precision, control, and reliability over the convenience of wireless connectivity. And wireless connectivity detracts from all 3 of those.

Oy. Looking at that $90 Logitech Wireless Illuminated keyboard hurts.

Logitech is charging $90 for a backlit membrane-dome keyboard. Not one bit of that keyboard is geared at gaming. It doesn't have macros, it doesn't have mechanical key switches. For $100, you can buy a wired "gaming" keyboard that has both macros and mechanical switches.

That $90 Logitech illuminated keyboard is a perfect example of why gamers don't use wireless. All your money is going towards features that don't help you actually play games better.

yep, but that's as closest I could go to a wireless gaming keyboard. (where I'd prefer backlight over macros.

personally I use a mionix zibal 60 which is a mechanical keyboard with backlighting.

You could try the K270. If the keyboard is anything like the wired version (K120) the keys press are quite linear which is the prefered type/switch for gaming. I have the wired version and the keyboard quite enjoyable to use for normal everyday and gaming. The keyboard obviously not gaming oriented due to the lack of macros. IMO, Wireless keyboard is fine for gaming since you are using USB and are limited to a certain amount of NKRO (3-6) anyway.

I agree kent1146, if you are going to spend $90, then get a mechanical keyboard. I would recommend going for the Red Switch since they are light and linear and something a lot of scissor switch, membrane, and dome user are going to be familiar with. For laptop, do not worry about NKRO since you are going to be limited to 6 due to the USB unless you get a board that does unlimited NKRO over USB (Noppoo Choc) or you are going to use the PS2 adapter for a Desktop.
