I'm just curious if any of the board members know any information about the ParkerVision or "Horizons Wireless" WLAN usb adapter and pcmcia card. Here's the website for it http://www.direct2data.com/index.htm . The claims that the manufacturer makes seem to good to be true. Can anyone shed any light on this?

I dunno. Can't find much information about it. Personally, I'd stick with what it is already out there unless I had a specific application that calls for that range. WiFi can be extended inside a home with cheap parts from Radio Shack. Outside the home, there are a variety of proven products to offer wide area access. Nothing wrong with being an early adopter though.

Thanks for replying Big Calhoun. I'm planning to buy it within a month and when I do have it I'll post about it here.

Please do!! I'm pretty sure alot of us here use wireless LANs and would be interested to know how this product performs. Especially if it really lives up to the range and is compatiable with existing equipment. Let us know how you make out.
