    Hi,

I'm looking for a wireless gaming mouse that looks "ordinary", something along the lines of Logitech M705 I guess (which I hear isn't very good for gaming). Please note that I'm not looking for a high-end professional gamers mouse, just your casual wireless mouse with adequate precision and response in FPS games and the likes.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

EDIT: Just to clarify I'm planning on taking the mouse with me to college to use in classes which is the reason for wanting it to not look like it's about to take off into outer space.

I've been using the following Asus mouse with my laptops for the last 4 years.. It more than decent for games and quite inexpensive... Also its has a cool look without being absolutely flashy...

"laser mouse" -> read about the issue here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/acc...liable-wireless-gaming-mouse.html#post9767548

personally I would not use any laser mouse except for desktop usage, and I'd still prefer an optical over it anytime.

Thanks Mobius, the Roccat Pyra does look nice and has that "ordinary" look. Do you have any experience with it? Or anyone else for that matter? Thanks

I don't know if this has been fixed in later revisions of the Pyra, but one of the big problems I had with it was the fact that the USB charging cable does not transmit data like it does in the Logitech G700s. This means that if your batteries run low, you have to plug in the USB cable while still having the wireless receiver attached, meaning you've now taken up two USB ports. This is a pretty major design flaw on a product that looks like it's designed to be used in a mobile environment.

Again, I don't know if that's changed recently because the last time I used the Pyra was many years ago, but it is something to keep in mind.

I've been using a logitech performance MX and Anywhere MX mouse for years. Unless you need lots of extra buttons they work fine. The Logitech G700s is a more simple looking gaming version and has a lot of buttons on it.

125hz pollng rate (locked since bluetooth, no OC possible) = choppy cursor movement -> PHOTOS: Mouse 125Hz vs 500Hz vs 1000Hz | Blur Busters, low sensor tracking speed (in m/s) (more suited to office works), weight (uncomfortable).

it's not a gaming mouse by any means, it's just your regular wireless office mouse with extra features.

While it doesn't change your point much, neither the Performance nor Anywhere mouse is Bluetooth.

OP wants a usable "gaming mouse", not "office mouse". 125Hz is not suitable for gaming.

Sayeth whom? Doesn't seem to bother/affect me... It's a good compromise between work and gaming. If you're a full time competitive gamer then perhaps. But for all intents and purposes... meh, doesn't matter.

The problem is so very few "gaming mice" are useful with a laptop. They all have unwieldy large docking stations that also act as the receiver. I don't know of any simple looking gaming mice with a tiny dongle (tee hee). I like how the Razer Mamba is simple in design, not too many buttons, but it has a large base. Why can't someone make a gaming mouse like the anywhere mouse MX with a small wireless dongle.

You can and should be able to notice the difference between 125/1000hz. Mouse is not responsive at 125hz and there's a lot of stutter/jumps.

The Mamba 4G (dual sensor) has sensor problems since it's PTE -> http://forum.notebookreview.com/acc...liable-wireless-gaming-mouse.html#post9765431

As I said, the Roccat pyra is the only decent option for a compact wireless gaming mouse. The G602 looks like a spaceship according to the OP

No stutters or jumps. Been using it for years. I've used some of the gaming mice and didn't notice a difference. I'll look at roccat pyra tho

Only issue I had with the Performance MX for gaming was in games like DayZ where you sometimes don't need to use the mouse for long stretches at a time (running cross country in that game can take forever). It would go to sleep and it took a wiggle to wake up, could be deadly if you get attacked. Outside of that I used it for quite some time in a lot of games and had no issues.

I have owned 2 Logitech Anywhere MX over the past 4 years, they have been the best for me, no other mouse fits so perfectly. But when I did try to play Battlefield 4 last month, it was stuttering and I could feel it. Plugged in my Alienware G900 Merciless TactX Mouse and then I felt the difference, it was butter smooth.

Wish they could come up with an Anywhere MX revision really it's awesome for desktop mode just not gaming

    The Logitech G602.

I personally use this mouse for gaming at home, and I use it in class without getting any of those funny looks.... only compliments really , It looks more like a business-class mouse than a gaming mouse, which I like.

Hmm, use it all the time with BF4 noticed no stutter issues here. I know the MX mouse isn't an ideal mouse, but overall it's a good compromise between business class and gaming. Although I have considered going with a wired mouse just for BF4 and see if it can make a difference.

I agree though, an Anywhere MX version made more for gaming would be ideal.

G602 has too may buttons on the side for my liking. But I have fancied the G700s.
