    Wireless mouse interfering with router's Wifi signal

    Hey guys,

    I've recently been having some trouble with the wifi connection to my laptop cutting out, and I've just figured out that it's my wireless mouse that's been causing the problem!
    Does anyone here know how to stop the mouse from interfering with the wifi signal? The mouse I have is a Roccat Pyra, and it according to it's specs it transmits at 2.4GHz, the same as my router.
    Is there anyway to change it's frequency or whatever? It's a really great mouse and I'd really like to keep using it if possible, but I'd also like to use the internet at the same time :p

    Change the channel your router uses. Very easy to do on the router. Type something like 192.168.1.1 into your favorite internet browser.

    I have had interference between the wireless mouse and WiFi, but always the other way. The mouse would become erratic when the network was very busy.

    Other than moving to a 5GHz WiFi, the only thing I can think of is changing the channel that the WiFi uses. That should change the frequency a little bit. This is done on the router.

    it doesn't seem that my router has the ability to transmit at 5GHz, which sucks :(
    I tried changing the channel too and that had no effect either. I thought that maybe my mouse needed to be re-synced after changing the channel so I tried that, and it worked for a few minutes, but then the disconnections came back again. Urgh, this is so infuriating, you would have thought that wireless mouse manufacturers would have thought about this!

    I would pop in to your local superstore and pick up a cheap wireless mouse to test in order to be absolutely certain you have an interference problem. If that mouse works, then you know the other one is to blame, and you can go about getting a replacement. Roccat is apparently pretty good about responding to support requests.
