I've used many mice before, mostly from razer. Copperhead, Habu, lachesis, <name of intel wireless mouse, forgot>, el cheapo mouse, Arc mouse.
It seems that mouses rarely have 2 side buttons unless it's a "gaming mouse". Been reading about the Orochi and it seems perfect as my laptop has bluetooth, but searching the forums I find lots of people complaining about the sleep issue.
I will mostly be using it for office-work like activities, like web browsing, programming. Thanks for reading!![]()

I have the Orochi, and I find the Bluetooth mode great for "office" stuff, browsing and what not.
-
If you get 2-3 seconds sleep-freeze then it's not so great. at least for me.
I have had Orochi for about 2 months, and believe me, getting out from sleep-freeze issue felt GREAT!
Check out Logitech G700
If you prefer smaller mouse like Orochi, I'd recommend AnywhereMX or VX nano
at least those 2 have nothing to complain about -
office work activities, web browsing and what not, then go for a logitech Performance Mouse Mx. more ergonomic, meaning more comfort, and no sleep issues. I dont see why you really need bluetooth but if you do for whatever reason, you can take a look at this.
Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000
I had a nightmare story with the orochi i bought. -

Anywhere mouse looks nice. I'll try to get a deal on Orochi so if it sucks I can just sell it. And get something from logitech. =X
@crayonshinchan, Yep, really anal about the 2 side buttons.. after getting used to web browsing (or file browsing) with back and front as side buttons, one can never turn back.. -
I have owned a Logitech ANywhere MX, and a Logitech Performance MX. Both are excellent wireless mice, and both are excellent for office productivity work. You do not have any issues with the sleep timer like you do on the Orochi, and both mice have at least two thumb buttons. By default, those two buttons are set to browser forward/back, but you can remap those to do whatever you would like.
If you are also looking for a mouse that handles gaming, then you would not go wrong waiting for the Logitech G700 to become widely available. 2.4Ghz wireless mouse that charges on a USB cable, and also operates on USB in wired mode if needed. High DPI mouse, high USB polling rate, and plenty of thumb buttons. Every review and user opinion of the mouse that I have seen is positive. -
Ok I got the orochi new for 80SGD (59USD) which is 30% cheaper than retail here. Found the lag still acceptable for office work.
No usb dongle is cool! -

I just got the Orochi and haven't had any issues with it. Honestly, people are overly dramatic about the sleep thing. Takes a second or two tops and you are up and running again. Big whoop. The only time it would be really annoying is if you are playing game (but you should be using it wired for that). Not having to worry about a dongle is a major plus with this thing.

its a great mouse, i love it. i only have it in bt when im doing everyday stuff, like surfing the web or office, then wired when gaming

Try a freeze-less mouse after using Orochi wirelessly for a couple of months and tell me how it feels ok -
-
since you don't stick to Orochi the whole time
I mean really: use Orochi wirelessly for months, then have a taste of freeze-less mouse
PS. remember, you're an odd case with 10 seconds sleep threshold, mastershroom -

Just look at Bose. Decent audio equipment priced like it is high-end audio equipment, marketed as "top end" to the mass buyers who aren't audiophiles and don't really know the difference. Yet you will find people who will swear that Bose speakers are the best speakers they have ever heard, no matter what else you compare them to.
Razer fanboys are no different. Say anything negative about Razer gear, and they will find ways to refute you. -
Hahah. Bose. (chuckle). Skull candy too. I've tried logitech or razer's ergonomic mices, and somehow I still prefer ambidextrous shapes. But for a laptop mouse this doesn't really matter, and I'm just being a fanboy.
Razer just came up with a mechanical keyboard, 2 years after I ditched my razer keyboard for a mechanical one. And they are bull5h1ting loads about how other mechanical keyboards are inferior. =/ -
I received my Orochi last friday and was immediately annoyed with the sleep lag it has. Decided to send it back, but there came a weekend so had to wait. Friday night also arrived my new HD so I installed windows again, and as Orochi has inbuilt memory and saves settings, I didn't bother to install software/driver for it again, but used instead default windows driver. It did stop sleeping with microsoft driver!!!!! I am totally happy now with the mouse and don't even think of sending it back hehe
It's best bluetooth mouse I had, beats even Kensington presenter which I liked alot.
-
but you can't set anything to buttons / dpi setting with windows driver is it not ?
Edit: I already sold mine or else I want to try it (uninstall Razer's driver software LOL ) .. nvm, I'm aiming at G700 now -
You'll be incredibly happy with the G700. Comfortable mouse, lots of buttons, great performance, wired mode for charging (or use as a straight wired mouse), and full performance wireless mouse. No hobbled DPI, no hobbled polling rate, and no annoying sleep lag in wireless mode.
The Logitech G700 is a wireless mouse that actually has full performance as a wireless mouse, instead of requiring apologists to use some weak excuse of "Well, if you want full performance, plug it in." -
Well I'm left-handed so wasn't much choises for me, otherway I would get something more normal too that won't need hacking it before can use
And yeah, with microsoft driver can't change settings under windows. I do that under os x where I didn't notice any sleeping problem with driver, so if I want to configure it I just connect it to my iMac. Also I'm not sure for how long will last batteries (2050 mAh rechargeable) if mouse is always on. -
