Here at uni, the wireless network does not support students' wireless printers - that is to say, when I tried to input the printer's wireless MAC address so that it could work on the network, I got a message saying this wouldn't work. I contact their IT desk and had this confirmed.
My question is: I have a wireless office printer; would it be possible to utilize this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833320032&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-Network+-+Wireless+Routers-_-ASUS-_-33320032 or something comparable to allow the printer to work wirelessly within a suite?

What exactly do you want to do?
You want to use your own printer on the university network - why??
Can't you use USB if its yous? -

you can
1) get your own router, use the wireless on this router to share the printer (i'm guessing the wireless printer should also have a ethernet port) wirelessly or through the LAN ports...
2) have a laptop/desktop on 24/7, share the printer through the computer
3) move the printer around and connect to the laptop when you need to print
i suggest getting a cheap refurb wireless b/g router... i have a Netgear b/g refurb for $18 that works decently... if your printer is wireless compatible, then you shouldn't need a print server... just a regular router
my guess is that the school requires authentication for the ethernet device? the school could put the MAC address on a Whitelist, but that's just asking for too much work
