    I have a Toshiba Satellite.

So far, I got a webcam (logitech for notebooks)
The Logitech nano mouse which i love.
Got a laptop bag coming in the mail.
    Have Bose headphones.

So, is there anything else you would suggest I get? I was thinking maybe a cooler for the bottom, but I am not sure how well they work.

Any cool suggestions feel free to fire away.

I use this noteook for internet on my sofa..watching movies or browwing in bed and emailing or doing work while out in a park or relaxing outdoors.

Most notebooks have air vents underneath, therefore keeping on cushy surfaces will cause them to overheat.

Keep it on a hard board or a notebook cooler.

I think you need an external hard drive to use to back up your data. Also, you could use a decent set of desktop speakers...your friends cant hear your music through your headphones!

This is true..I have the speakers also and the external HD..forgot to mention. The cooler is something I really am considering. I am going to search on here for which one to get.

it shouldnt be a big deal if you use it on your bed, I do it all the time with every laptop I've ever owned and never had a single problem.

External monitor? Once you have one you'll never go back.
How about a powered USB 2.0 hub? I just got one and for a notebook its awesome, i tucked it underneath my desk so that way when I put my laptop on the desk, all I have to do is plug in a single USB cable and the LCD cable and I'm set.
If you like graphics at all maybe a tablet? There are a ton of good deals on them right now compared to what was available a few years ago.

sprts..all good ones. I do have an external monitor with a spare input for the Satellite. It is an HP widescreen 20 inch. I love that thing. I use it in my studio for music production, and have it hooked up to a KVM for a spare VGA input if needed. I havent really used it on the laptop yet though because I like the freedom of getting the heck out of that area for a while and lounging.

So I went and just bought the Antec cooler. I know that there is one other cooler on here that everyone loves, but I personally liked how the antec was designed. I think the cooler was a key acquisition because my legs do get really hot after a while, and that should solve the problem. Also it has the USB passthrough so I do not lose a port. And I did notice the bed would be real hot where the computer was..so this is a good way to safeguard against any potential frying of the laptop.

So this brings me to maybe the last thing I need..which is the powered USB hub mentioned. I have 1 port permanently used by the nano mouse that I love (the small USB receiver is the greatest invention too). I would be wanting to be able to run this hub through the Antec, so I am guessing there would be no problems with that? Any reccomendations? I am not in a rush so I will take my time with this one.

Nope, should be no problem at all. USB specs allow it to be daisy chained up to dozens of devices.
In my setup, I have the USB 2.0 powered hub plugged directly into my laptop with the USB 2.0 devices plugged into it (external HD, iPod video, a slot reserved for when my tablet showsp), and then the next slot I have a USB 1.1 hub plugged in with slower accessories plugged into (wireless KB, printer, and a slot reserved for my Pantone Huey when it shows up).
With this setup all devices work great, so I dont see that you would have any probs either.

This is the powered hub I purchased from Newegg, http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817111976
Its great, I like it alot. Even with shipping it was less than the overpriced ones at BBuy and CompUSA, and its probably better than some of the ones they sell anyways.

NOPE, you cant say that for all notebooks. Maybe since you have a thinkpad t61, it would be ok since main heat vents are on the sides , rather than underneath the notebook like in most other brands i.e DELL, HP etc.. (I'm not sure about Toshiba though..). try using one of those on a bed ;).

I got a WD mybook 500 gig. I love this thing..awesome external. The Antec pad I got is insanely quiet and keeps my computer around 3 degrees cooler. I think I am all set...I am going to buy a neoprene sleeve for added protection when I travel, but I think I'm set. I don't game much, if I do it's on my 360.
