    Hi guys,

I am looking at this cheap USB Key sound card for my laptop. I know it aint no Audigy 2 ZS, but I have very little to spend as I have just bought the lappy. I am basically considering one only because I receive intermittant "static" sounds when I connect headphones or speakers to the audio out jack built into the 259IA.

How is this likely to compare to the inbuilt VIA audio? Will I at least get clear audio, because the built-in is driving me nuts.

    Hre's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/USB-KEY-SIZE...oryZ3701QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    Cheers,
    Stu

I've looked at those but seriously doubted it will work well...

I'm interested as well if anyone has tried them

I don't think that one will be very good...not even a manufacturer name on it!!

I have heard that generally, USB sound cards don't work very well, I think because it requires more CPU usage to go through a USB interface - I saw a review on the Audigy 2NX USB (don't recall where), and it said that when playing games, the frame rates actually decreased because the CPU had to work harder!! Kind of ironic, considering that the CPU isn't even processing the sound!
