Hi! Just got a pair of these speakers recently...

Here is what they look like:

While I have nothing against the sound quality, which in my opinion is far better than most regular sized speakers I've seen, I have a question though... Since these speakers are connected by a magnetic base at the bottom for portability (resemble a capsule when fused), will it, along with the magnetic field it generates (being a speaker), do any harm to my laptop?

They look promising. OH and magnets should be fine by your lappys' LCD screen.

So it won't do anything even to my HDD?

    Thanks.

And here I was being a little paranoid about the neodymium and other magnets found in the speaker.

Ohh....icic; yeah a simple magnet like those won't be harmful to your harddrive.

Unless its an electro magnetic field strong enough to pull your laptop towards it I doubt very much if you will ever see an issue. There are rare earth or similar ultra strength stationary magnets intstalled in hard drives and these are hard to compete with externally.. Meaning? If you pull one apart you'll see what I mean..(Stick it to your fridge)..
