Hi, I recently bought a HP 9030us notebook & am looking for a sound card for the same.

reading different posts on this subject I came across these 2:

    1) Creative Xmod

    2) M-Audio Transit

Besides these two if there is another as good or better, please suggest, my use will be 50/50 between headphone & logitech 5500, maybe later with some portable speakers too.

    thanks

PS: any card yet made for the express slot ? that would be really nice.

The Creative Xmod requires an AC adapter for use with line-in audio devices such as an MP3 player; does not ship with an AC adapter; not a true portable solution.

I would go with the M-Audio Transit, its great for recording and playing music/movies... and no external power needed (powered by the USB cable connected to system). M-Audio is making great professional audio equipment that is finally reaching the masses since the prices are more competitive.
