Ok I've read the guides and everything on this site about the 2 coolers and their performance.

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=264531

The Zalman seems to make a good amount of difference but somehow I just can't really believe the figures cause they seem too good..

The reason I say this is because I bought a cheapo notebook cooler on eBay to see if it'd do. If you look on eBay you'll see tonnes of them. They have 3 fans and blue LEDs but even with 3 fans it literally makes no difference. I'm running HWMonitor and the max temperatures aren't any cooler when using it while playing games. There's definitely cool air coming from it but it just doesn't make the laptop any cooler. If anything, I've noticed a 1 degree C difference.....but that's too small to say if it actually makes a difference. At the moment I'm only using it because it gives a better typing angle plus it looks cool (check out the attached picture).

I know it's cheap but even with 3 fans it doesn't make a difference so I can't believe how the Zalman NC1000 can make up to 20 degrees C difference as WileyCoyote states in his guide. Also the vents on the Zalman aren't even in the best positions for the XPS M1530, being at the bottom of the cooler when the XPS M1530 needs them more towards the top....which makes me wonder again how it can make such a big difference.

The Notepal Infinite looks good because the fan isn't restricted just to the bottom as it covers the entire surface of the cooler. However the air intake is at the back, which is where the XPS M1530's hot air exhaust is located. People say this just makes the laptop hotter which I'm not sure is true. I contacted one guy on the forums who has one and he couldn't give me figures but said the results are definitely positive, but just not to expect drastic differences. The Notepal Infinite is also half the price of the Zalman NC1000 which is another reason to lean towards it.

All that said, I would like to know from people that actually own an XPS M1530 and one of the two coolers, the difference it actually makes. Both seem to have their pros and cons when looking at their build, so now I just need first hand results.

Any help would be appreciated. I just want to know which one is better.

(And I know the Zalman NC2000 is better but it's more expensive so I want to decide between these 2)

One warning is the notepal has had a few issues lately, I have received over a dozen pms regarding vibration issues as well as noise issues. The infinite does vibrate noticeably on high settings. (read johnnys review carefully he states it). Its cooling area is generally its outer edges and right in the center a bit. The Zalman should reach enough of the 1530s vents if positioned properly (all notebooks are slid down pretty far on Zalman coolers. The temperature drop of 20c is on the gpu and I would say looks legit, he has a OC and it looks like his card had a heat problem.
