    Hey all, pretty simple really.

Im wondering if i can rig an Xbox (like old xbox not 360) controller to a laptop.

Now i just want to know if i can chop the xbox controller end off and replace it with a USB? and if there is a chance it can be picked up/recognised by my computer.

    Cheers :)

there is a xbox 1->usb adapter/cable on ebay...

i think windows will recognize it as a gaming controller

if you want more to do with your controller, look at Pinnacle Game Controller... you can set your controller as a mouse/various keystrokes

Not that I know of, the corded 360 controllers are plug & play, and if you get the wireless one it works too with the wireless adapter.

I have one of both just for PC use, I dont even have a 360 and they are probably the best all around PC gamepad out there, also almost all the "Games for Windows" have native 360 control profiles built into them so you dont have to tweak the settings or anything the controller just works right and even has the 360 buttons for OSD instead of the computer keys.

Thats awesome news, cheers visc, i will probably buy a 360 usb pad but also take a look inside my old wireless xbox controller reciever to see if i can mod for usb usage, although its unlikely.
