    Hi, a quick question.
I have 'xbox wireless controller for windows' that comes with a USB receiver.
If i need a second controller, can I just buy any xbox controller or do i need to buy one that specifically says "for windows"?

any wireless 360 controller will do... you don't have to buy the 'specific' windows-logo version

and your USB receiver can connect up to 4 wireless controllers...(i tried it with Dolphin, emulating Super Smash Bros... pretty good :D)....

one thing is to make sure the USB receiver is NOT on a un-powered hub... it requires a lot of current, and won't work for more controllers if you have to split the power to other devices on the hub

    Thanks for clearing that up.
They're exactly the same, right? the way they functions.
"games for windows" will detect the controller and uses those buttons instead of keyboard keys. Vibration and everything.
And the receiver should be able to handle 2 controllers if it's plugged in to normal laptop USB port? no?

yep... your dongle sees any 360 wireless controller as a controller, and passes the signals to your game program... the game just requires support for controllers, and the game will accept the signals as input for the game... however, for multi-controllers, your game will need to support multi controllers for it to work

laptop USB port should work, but some might be underpowered... but it should all work
