At home. HP Bluetooth Laser Mobile Mouse* paired with my Sony VAIO SR**. Everything is fine. The cursor glides smooth across the screen as I slide my HP BT mouse across the mouse pad.

At a conventional center, New Orleans Morial Convention Center. Same setup. The mouse skips a few dpi across the screen as I slide my HP BT mouse across the same mouse pad.

At home again***. Back from my travels. The cursor glides smooth again.

Have you ever had this problem? I checked how many Bluetooth enabled devices were present at the convention center. TONS! Do you think it's caused by leaky Bluetooth signals? What are you experiences?

If I remember correctly, Bluetooth uses the 2.4Ghz frequency and can get interference from other devices using this frequency. I know that RF devices can have this happen as well. I have never personally experienced this since I have never been in a setting with so many Bluetooth devices.

    Most likely interference.

Your BT might be snoozing or something when on battery power.

Other bluetooth devices and even wi-fi can mess up a signal. The worst thing is usually being close to an access point.
